- Q: If smoldering were to occur on a blanket or upholstered furniture, what color would the smoke be?
- I've baked on a cookie sheet with parchment paper which I've seen recommended a lotWhat type of oven you have also affects whether or not your clay will burn - Best: convection oven (distributes the heat most evenly) 2nd best: regular oven Worst: toaster oven (can spike in temperature; also being so close the the heat source means it is more likely to burn) I have used a regular oven most often and never encountered a burning problemThe last time I only had a toaster oven available and burned clay (using the parchment paper method) for the first time so I had to learn some new techniquesI was pretty discouraged that everyone kept recommending a tile - which I don't have either! - to bake on, but I found an even better way of baking! My favorite way of baking now to ensure that your clay doesn't burn is to fill a bowl with cornstarchWhen you are ready to bake (don't place your clay in much sooner - it could absorb the clay's plasticizer and cause it to break more easily!) place the clay into the oven-proof bowl filled with cornstarchThen just follow instructions on the package for degree time and temperature! :) You can reuse the cornstarch for baking clay, but don't use the cornstarch for anything else afterPS: Another perk of this baking method - no flat, shiny surface that you would get with baking in a glass panEven baking on a cookie sheet or tile would give you a flat, uneven looking bottom - I think the clay might pick up some of the tin-foil texture tooThis cornstarch method is especially useful for clay items that might otherwise sag without support.
- Q: Ok my bf works around insulation all the time! He used to use my car for work and he would put his construction stuff in the trunk ( which had insulation on it)well now he uses his old car (now that its working) we just got finished cleaning the cars and i vacuumed the trunk outim 33 weeks and 3 days pregnantDo you think it would harm my unborn baby or no?
- All the items you listed need to be repaired at the landlords expenseThey are health issuesI would have your parents write a letter to him to repair these itemsGive 30 days and then report him to the local housing auth.
- Q: With the Cold weather outside, whats the cost efficient thermostat should I keepWhenever I leave for work, I keep the thermostat at 75 and the house is toasty, I like thatKeep in mind im from SC
- You mean you want to remove the puss (whitish substance) that's usually 2/3 of the size in the center of the pimple right? That's what I do with a clean needle tip or I pop them if I have clean fingers and nails instead and then I apply an acne treatment with hydrogen peroxide (which is a medicated ingredient used in it) that is specialized for use in treating pimples and it usually works in making the pimple smaller and for it to go away a bit faster than just leaving it or them on my face! However, I must admit that I really like the answer from Sukhoi! Good luck!
- Q: i heated up my house to 83 degree's and within 20 minutes it dropped down to 63 degreesdoes that mean my house has no insulation between the walls? or do i have a very bad air leak
- Retrofitting energy efficiency into an older home is expensive, and only partially successful - there are so many ways for heat to leak out and inFirst, check the windows - adding storm windows or at least thin clear plastic on the outsides during winterNext, check for cold spots - elec outlets on exterior walls, exterior door frames, stove vent hood, fireplace chimney, etcA can of great stuff spray foam will do a lot of good, but once you open it, you have to use it all right now, or throw the rest away; so decide what you'll do and make preparations - remove cover plates from all light and plug openings on exterior walls, for example You can buy loose fill insulation pretty cheap at Lowe's and they will lend you a blower machineIf there's a crawl space, look under there - often the insulation is long goneThere, put batts, unfaced, as wide as the joists (I like R-19 at minimum - more if the joist spacing will accept it without crowding), and hold it up with wire, crisscrossed between joists and stapled inGreat idea to then cover it with tight fitting black poly 6 mil, again stapled well.
- Q: I think I've asked before but I'd like some additional recommendationsI have a 16X70 mobile home that is not well insulated and with winter approaching fast, I'd like to see what I can do now to help keep us warmer without breaking our walletsThis mobile home has sheetrock with some cheap yellow insulation then the metal exterior and that's itSomething I've thought about but I'm not sure if it would work is to take off the interior walls and remove the insulationWhat I've thought is I could cut pieces of that sturdy foam used in homes, and put between the studsMaybe use some kind of tape around the perimeter of the foam, then install new insulation of a better brand then replace the sheetrockWe keep the thermostat set on like 66 degrees and the bill is still sky highWould my plan work? or do you have any better suggestions for better insulating mobile homes? I do have underpinning but it's just the plastic/rubber kind (not concrete blocks).

I have combination hair and it is semi-damaged, it's brown and sort of wavyI don't straighten every day, I just started (last week) ironing it twice a weekI'm afraid this cheap iron will hurt my hairI use Tre'semme Thermal Heat Protectant right before I straighten it and John Frieda Straight Fixation stuffI am about to get a more expensive Solia iron and CHI iron guard, probably on SundayI know it's kind of silly but will the Andis and Tre'semme hurt my hair until then?
