If you need a new pad they are about .50 per square foot for a basic pad. To calculate square footage multiply each rooms width by length and add them together. If you have a professional measure they will add 10% to the total to calculate for mistakes. Don't forget you may also need to pay for installation.

- Yes, tin foil keeps the moisture away from the legs of the furniture and protects both the carpet and the furniture. One problem though is if it is still damp when you put the furniture back on it you have those depressions in the carpet as it will compress then dry that way. Best it be as dry as possible before putting the furniture back. Good Luck

- Give them to me :D I wish I could have pink rugs. Being married stinks only because I can't girly up ANY rooms in the house. Pink goes with everything. Try keeping them, and adding a lot of another color. Good colors w/hot pink: brown (younger), black (teenage), cream (older) or you can throw in a bunch of crazy colors like aqua purple.

If that cant be done the other idea is glue or hand sew the a length of Velcro to the under side of the rug in each corner. - There is a product builders use for new houses. It comes in big rolls and is adhesive on one side and sticks to the carpeting. Just pulls off when you are done. It's about $11 a roll and they have it at Lowe's and Home Depot. If that is too expensive, then get plastic painters' drop cloths. They are clear, don't get ones that are too thin, and just tape the sides to the baseboards with painters' tape. Not very attractive but will save the carpet. They are really huge and can do a whole room.
