- Q: wires have been cut and i have 4 wires i dont know what do.what colors are for what?
- What are you wiring??
- Q: Hi,I have an issue with wiring in house. This is in Paris, France. I will share a foto so you can have a clearer picture what my question is.
- I'm not sure of your electrical system over there (except that it's 50HZ) The green/yellow wire is probably the ground (see which one is screwed into the frame of the oven to be sure) the other two shouldn't matter because it's probably a 240V unit, right?
- Q: (For my PC)I want to have a quadrophonic speakers (4 channels), but i want to extend 2 speakers, but their wires are limited and cant extend enough to reach my rear? what should i do?is it as simple as, cut the speaker wires and extend it with a common copper wire that you mostly found on most appliance you found on your home?
- It would be best to replace the short wire with new wire of the proper length! Use speaker wire, it will cost less and that's why it's made! But, what you said would work, most likely!
- Q: I just read an article about a man who was electrocuted by a live overhead wire while trimming a tree. Horrible. My question is I see squirrels running on all the overhead wires. How do they not get electrocuted?
- Electrocution happens when electricity finds a way to ground. Squirrels are not grounded so they don't get shocked. Ever watch the Discovery channel? They've shown how the power company works on high voltage lines without shutting the power off. A helicopter hovers next to the power line while a technician reaches out to the power line with a probe. Once contacted the helicopter and the technician are at the same potential voltage so nobody gets shocked. However, during approach they are NOT at the same potential. That's the reason for making contact with he wire with a probe first. So that the technician doesn't take a big hit when he first touches the live wire. So squirrels, birds, rats - anything that can land on the wires doesn't get electrocuted. But if an animal touches the wire AND ground (or another wire), it's all over in a blinding flash. Hope this helps. 'av'a g'day mate. '')
- Q: I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx. Somehow the fan caught a hold of the wiring harness and tore all the wires. any idea how much it's going to cost?
- Depending on how many wires were damaged and need repaired, I wouldn't recommend a repair unless you can solder them and heat shrink them. And you would want to stagger the joints so they are not all in the same place. Getting a used wiring harness shouldn't cost much. Probably the same as getting all the tools necessary to repair them. (if you don't already have them.) then all you have to do is run the new one along the old one and unplug connectors one at a time.
- Q: i bought a wiring kit off OKorder it was a bullz 4 gauge kit. and i am running a rockford 500.2 n its rated for 700+ watts. so do you think my cheaper wiring kit is affecting performance? should i go snag up some bigger power wire for more power to run through it or is tht not how it wokrs?
- if your wire is truly 4 gauge you will have no problems.the problem is some of the 'no name' wire companies over rate their wire.they will sell 6 or 8 gauge wire as 4 gauge. go to a car stereo shop and ask to see a piece of 4 gauge wire. if it way bigger than what you have you may want to upgrade.
- Q: I have these subwoofers that need a bridged wire because of the amp I have. The subs have double voice coils and I need need a bridged wire from a negative on one voice coil to the positive of the other coil. Is this bridged wire just subwoofers wire? And if it is, do I use just the positive side, just the negative side, or both?
- Its hard to understand what u mean, u don't bridge speakers u bridge an amp. U might mean u need to wire the subs up to be able to wire them to an amp to a certain ohm load. If u want to bridge a 2 channel amp,u take the pos ofur speaker wire to the inside pos of the first channel, and the neg of speaker wire to inside neg of second channel.
- Q: Is lime wire any good????
- i have tried a few different places and i keep coming back to lime wire so YES it is!
- Q: I have a duplex box and want to put two recepticles in it. Each have two connector post on each side. How do I wire this.
- Just wire in jumpers from the existing outlet, white wire to the silver screws, black wire to the gold screws, and unshielded wire to the green ground screw . Be sure to kill the power before you start.
- Q: what size of wire do i need and is the new fuse box/trip box kept in garage.or where can i get wiring diagrams from
- Depends if you plan on running welder or welders, lights of course and an air compressors, you requir 220 to 240 volts, the breaker box should be in your garage, now go to the welding store,or tractor supply and get 10 gauge wire, might as well get a small spool of it cause you're gonna need it,depending on the size of your garage,i own my own auto body shop and my 8 employes are either welding or running the air compresers to shoot a car,now my shop can hold 6 cars maximum inside, others stay out side,+ they're under constant survalance watch, along with the shop and my office,so theres more power being drawn there to,my electric bill is around $1,900 a month, give or take, find someone that knows what they are doing a bit with electrical work,a buddy or something,it's hard to say what it would cost with not knowing what your garage will be used to do.
