Q:i have an 03 chevy malibu and the battery light keeps coming on. I replaced a new battery 2 weeks ago and last week i had a new alternator installed. Should i worry about it or should i bring it into an auto shop to check it out?
Light is supposed to be telling you that something in charging system is not working, -- you should have had that checked out before buying anything! But that is a little late to worry about now! The charging circuit consists of a number of things,- not just a battery and alternator! There are also wires, (and fuses possibly), Belt could be slipping, bad connections on battery clamps (especially if one of those clamp on ones has been added,- they are bad news)! You could also have bad ground cable between engine and chassis of car! You can have this checked out free at WalMart. AutoZone,or a lot of other places that sell auto parts and batterys! Have it done with everything right in car, -- after all the circuits and parts in car are what it is going to have to work with! Good parts thrown in with defective parts just aren't going to make the system work right! And then,-- just because new stuff was put in does not mean that the new stuff is good! In over 55 years, I have seen tons of new stuff that didn't work (right out of factory boxes)!
Q:Whether the car headlamps are common
If it is headlamps, is certainly not common, this can be seen clearly. You look at the car's shade that piece and the appearance of the bus is not the same, it is clear that not swap it.
Q:I usually have this little orange light that I can see under park reverse etc however since the battery light has came on, at night time I can not see this at all now. My lights work and everything else works however I‘m worried because the battery light is staying on. Any help?
Take it to a parts store like Autozone. They can usually test the computer in the car to see what error is causing the light to stay of if the battery is okay. They can also test the battery to make sure it's not a legitimate problem. They should do all that for free as well. So I'd try that before taking it to a mechanic.
Q:I‘m having a problem with my a/c system. the interior lights on the controls no longer come on, and many things don‘t work anymore. the fan comes on blows air, but it‘s no longer heated. and the ducts don‘t move either, for when you want the air from the outside vs inside air circulation. everything was fine yesterday until the thermostat housing was attempted to be taken off.the last bolt wouldn‘t come off. and the housing has shifted a bit from its original place, and wont be budged back. could this have anything to do with it. i checked all fuses and they work fine. any solutions?
If you want heat, it's carried by the engine coolant. If the engine thermostat housing isn't closed tight, the coolant will all leak out and not carry heat anywhere- the heater, the radiator- not anywhere, and it will stay where you don't want too much of it- in the engine. The engine will overheat very quickly without coolant in it and be damaged badly. The interior heating ducts are controlled, often, by engine vacuum carried by little hoses and some may have gotten knocked loose. Some cars do this wth cables and levers instead of vacuum. You need to look in a good auto repair manual like Chiltons and see where everything related to heating and cooling belongs and make sure it's still there. But before you try to start the engine, fix the thermostat housing. Get a friend who knows about these things to help you and don't let it get dark before you finish working. Since the heater lights don't come on anymore, find the wire that got knocked off and plug it back. How do bolts on an engine near a thermostat get stuck? Maybe it's rusted in place, or stuck with block sealer that was used to stop a leak. Leak stop with sodium silicate will do that, and that's about the best kind of sealer, but the problems it can cause are what you have. I hope you never have to take the head off- some of the head bolts might be stuck too and they are extremely hard- I wouldn't want to have to try and drill out one, and you'd need a diamond drill, or at least carbide. If you break the thermostat bolt, you'll have to drill it out and tap new threads in the hole so a new bolt will go in and hold. That simple job got very complicated, didn't it.

Q:ONLY when i accelerate on the highway, speeds 65-75mph. The car rocks forward and backward like it's misfiring or something. the engine light is always on. If the engine light is on,there is a code stored in the car's computer. There is a sensor telling the computer that there is a problem. A cheap way to find out what the code is, Just go to an auto parts store like Autozone or Oreilly's and have them read the code with a code scanner. This will tell you what sensor is causing the light to come on and will help you diagnose the problem. There are WAY too many electrical parts on a modern car to just start guessing and changing random parts. It will nickel and dime you broke like that. The car will tell you what is wrong by reading trouble codes.

I don't think I have ever heard of stainless steel water pipes before except in special conditions like acid or something caustic. Copper is of course the pipes of choice or PVC which have special conditions also. They are cheaper and easier to put in but, I'll stand with copper every time.
Q:My check engine light has been on for a few weeks. At one point, I tightened the gas cap and it went away until I had to fill up with gas, then it reappeared. I thought buying a new gas cap would help, but it didnt. I took it to Auto Zone and it passed their free test. Nothing could be detected.I am at a loss.What else could be causing the problem? Have the new cap tested for the proper pressure reading. Take the car to the dealership. Chances are is the new cap is bad out of the box. Put the old cap back and tighten it down. if the light go out you have your answer. You may hap to get a cap from the dealership to get the proper rated cap. Here is a question for you. Did unhook to the battery in the car for five minutes. This clears the codes out off the system that are called had codes. That stay on for more than five with the light on. Otherwise the code will pop back on from the member and turn the light back on. So tester don't read all the codes. Some test will not clear all the codes. Unhooking the power to the system will clear all the codes.
Q:I have a 2003 Mazda 6. Two weeks ago my check engine light came on. I was told that the code was 126 - And that there was a problem with the coolant system and obtaining optimal performance. The thermastat was replaced and all was OK for a week. However today while driving, I noticed the light come back on.
