Q:ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS:My Low Coolant occassionally comes on.anddd my Air Conditioning/Heater only works on the highest setting. ANY SOLUTIONS?!?!? THANKS!!!!

take the car and have auto zone scan the computer,its free, chances are its just sensor that's bad for the air abs system in it, as for the low coolant light those have sensor that goes bad that will cause that light to come on,and for the heater problem you may have a bad blower motor resistor on it bad that will make the heater motor only run on a certain speed,most of these are minor problems though and should be able to be corrected with not to much cost involved,good luck.

Q:I have a 200 BMW 323Ci (coupe). The brake sensor light indicator came on which means I need new pads at least.BMW dealership always replaces pads AND rotors and quoted $1045(+tax) for my car. I‘m wondering if there is an auto repair shop (i.e. a national chain) that will do brakes on BMWs and doesn‘t charge such an outrageous amount? I don‘t have the tools to do it myself.Places like Meineke, Goodyear Monro say they‘ll do the work but I have to bring it in and have them look at it in person before they‘ll give me even a ballpark price.One local business quoted $800.is that reasonable?Thanks!

their all going to be a little higher ,because its a BMW ,and even though the parts don't cost that much more for them,mechanics still charge more for working on them,id check around ,there are places that will do it cheaper than that ,800 is a little high on that one,it doesn't cost that much to replace all the brakes on those,i know because i own a shop and do this also,normal price should be around 550 at the most,and that's for a complete brake job,good luck with it.

Q:I have a 1996 Mazda Millennium that the battery would always go dead on me if it sat for a couple of days. Had battery checked and charged, and it checked good. So i changed the alternator and the light is still on. What do you think is wrong?

Check the Red Wire from the Alternator for the Fusable Link being bad, also Grounds at Starter to Block, Alternator to Block Block Strap to Firewall. Are your belts and Tensioner good?

Q:The engine idles and runs rough and I smell gas when I start it.

yes, the rear wheels have to slide sideways to some extent. This cause tire wear, and also wear in the street material. But that is true in any vehicle, to a lesser extent. Even a single tire has to slide a bit to turn. .

You *could* get new, smaller rims and re-lace your hubs. With a car people get lower tires to get the car lower. With a motorcycle a lower tire will screw up with your handling, will not be able to take curves as well,scraping the bike in slower curves. If all you want to do is park it and look at it, you can re-lace your hubs for a smaller, lower tire. If you want to actually *ride* you will want to keep close to the stock tires.

Q:i have a viper alarm/auto start system in my 88 crx and it stoped working.i was pulling my insterment cluster out and thats were it was located and i unhooked everything so i could pull my cluster out.after i was done i put everything back the next morning i tryed my auto start and nothing my alarm is still working.its just my auto start i dont have the manual or anything beings that the arlarm came with my car when i bough it.any help would be great thank you.

Auto-start has lots of interlocks and any one of them will keep the starter from working. My daughter's has error codes that blink on the parking lights (hers is saying the disable toggle switch is off, but she can't find the switch). You will have to search for the user's manual for the model you have to decipher the code.

Q:Ok so i recently bought a new car and my van has been sitting for about 2 weeks but i would drive it about once a week and when i moved it out of the garage earlier yesterday the check engine light came on. it looks like there is a hole in the muffler with like water leaking out. So what is causing the check engine light on ?

When was the van last inspected? I would have it checked out at the dealer. ONLY the dealer has the right software to turn the light off. I know that you probably fear the bill that the dealer will give you but if you can live with the light being on, then delay the visit. However, something could be serious. You can always ask them to look at it and give an cost estimate only. Make it clear to them that you don't want them to fix the problem. Only give an estimate to locate the problem. If they insist that they need to do a bunch of work first, then look for another dodge dealer. Don't let them rob you, but you need to know if this problem will pose a danger to your family when you are riding your kids.

Q:When I use my automatic start, all the lights turn on, dash, tail and all (its supposed to be that way) but once I reset the auto start (by pressing on the brake) the dash lights shut off and the tail lights also shut off.If I put the car in park and set the lights to day time running, the dash board lights come back on, AND the tail lights?Have any ideas whats going on??

The instrument panel lights and tail lights are both part of the same electrical circuit. When your automatic start system was installed, the installer probably tapped into your taillight circuit for a hot lead. It is probable that something in your automatic start system is shorting out the power source for your instrument panel tail lights, causing them to fail. Have a competent mechanic check out your wiring.

Q:Does the truck have a self diagnosis tool that can tell me the code for the check engine light? Like some Chrysler /Dodge products if you turn the key 3 times a code will appear on the dash. What about the GMC?

Did u put in fuel shortly before the light came on? I own 2 service centers the most common situation with Check Engine lights are because the fuel cap wasn't re-installed or not tightened. When you refuel make sure it clicks when putting back on. We don't charge for a Code Reading but a dealer will, don't go there. Go, like the others suggested, to Murray's, Auto-zone. If it is the fuel cap you re-install it correctly, the light will go off after a short drive. Good Luck. Q:What does it mean when in addition to auto light not working, there is hi-pitched whine sound from tank(?)?

It sounds like your gas tank may be near empty and the fuel pump is howling inside. The auto light sounds like something that may be part of the air conditioning. Try turning the air system off for 3 minutes and back on full auto. Put more gas in the tank. It the air system is cooling, what more could ask for. Don't worry about the light. It could mean that a fuse is blown and the forced air fan of the cooling system is not getting power. Find the blown fuse and replace it. Start the motor run the air system and see if it starts putting out cool again.
