Q:This is a great little SUV. I‘ve been the only owner since I bought it Jan 2000. The only major problem I‘ve had in 7 years is the dealer changed out the cam shafts in 2005. Now the battery light is coming on. Does anyone know what a battery light on the dash indicator could mean? I‘ve looked on automotive forums and many have said to check the ground for the alternator or the alternator is going bad. I hope it‘s just the grounding. HELP!! I don‘t want to part with my Rodeo, it‘s great!

Q:I have sony 6x9‘s and 6 1/2 for speakers which are hooked up to the amp that came with the car. i also have 2 12‘ Infinty‘s with a rockford 8 gauge amp kit and p-400 amp. the dealer i got them installed at said i do not need one but my speedometer lights go off and on when they want?? need a little help please!? thanks

Additives are for suckers. Additives usually require gallons to make a difference to a full tank of gas. For example the octane boosters an .1 octane. People usually miss read and think its 1 per bottle. You could pour a gallon of toluene in and that would help but its $17 a gallon. Save your money additives are for suckers.really.

Q:My husband got an 01 s10 4.3 automatic. The check engine light is on and we took it to auto zone, and they said it‘s the secondary air injection system fault. Does anyone know what this could be? Probable causes could be circuit relay or fuse open, check connection and wiring or air pump defective or hose blocked. They did one of those check engine scans. My husband has already changed the air filter and a pcv vowel, but it keeps coming back on. We have to have it MD inspected within 30 days before the tags expire and my husband is leaving for the military in less than two weeks.

Nice trucks good reliability. but not fast, but the 4.3l V6 is WAY better than the 4cyl, wouldn't recommend the 4cyl at all just not enough power.

Q:The service engine light on my 2006 Nissain recently came on. We took it to our trusted mechanic and he was puzzled as to why it came on (the code was for a transmission problem that is very rare, especially on a car with less than 30,000 miles). He reset it, and told us that if it comes back, to take it to the dealership as it may be covered by the warranty. It came back so we went to the nissain dealership. It was $120 to check out the problem. They told us that nothing was wrong, and reprogrammed the service engine light. I repeatedly asked WHY the light came on. The dealership thought I should be happy that nothing was wrong with the car. To me, having a light randomnly pop off that requires a $120 fix is a complete and utter scam. If it‘s scheduled maintanence, then they should explain that.instead of simply charging me money and telling me I should be happy. Are these lights scams?

2 possibility can happen, 1 is you got a faulty sensor or sensor acting up. When your trusted mechanic fixed it trouble return. Then dealership mechanic need to reprogram to correct problem, so is the sensor only. They charge you $120 for this job, and told you should be happy, this is the reason why. Your warranty is over, if not the $120 will be waived anyway, a transmission job will cost few thousands without warranty cover.

Q:Mitsubishi Galant 1998. I was in a recent auto accident that damaged the radiator area and I am trying to fix it myself. The check engine light is on it runs pretty hot. First off I understand that the coolant system is pressurized. In the accident the coolant bottle was crushed in such a way that the cap does not fit properly onto the bottle. The hose is still in the coolant and it doesnt leak. Could this cause a problem since the bottle cannot be pressurized?Second the radiator fans do not come on when the engine is turned on. does the thermostat need to activate the fans before they come on? ie is this normalAny ideas would be great. Q:I‘ve had my 2001 Chevy Impala 3.4 for almost 6 years now. I understand its not the most reliable car considering I‘ve had to make multiple mechanical repairs on it. But I‘ve recently stumbled over the newest of issues. While driving down the road, my battery light will come on for a few seconds, and then go away. Sometimes the SECURITY light comes on and won‘t go away until i restart the car. And also, sometimes, my buckle up warning light barks at me, even though i always wear my belt. This all started fairly recently, and I‘m clueless. Any similar experiences out there or some good ideas maybe?

Q:I drive an 04 Nissan Frontier, I think if I would have unplugged the battery before changing it, it wouldn‘t have come on. All wires are secure that were unplugged around the radio.

try disconnecting the battery for a minute and then rehook it.
