- Q:I need to remove several tiles for repair and replace the tiles with as little damage as possible
- if its in the middle, drill a hole in one, then chisel it out, once you have one removed the rest are easy

- Q:I need to take a tile that is on the wall under my bathroom sink cabinet to use it to replace some visible tiles. I know it‘s possible to remove the old damaged tiles, but obviously I don‘t want to damage the ones that I‘m going to use to replace the bad ones.

If you want to see how a particular tile might look on the wall in advance, take a digital photo of each tile you're interested in, resize to life size) and tape prints over each tile you want to replace. Yes, you can do as you propose. My experience with removing tiles for re-use are that I seem to get between a 40 and 70% yield of useable tile when I try to salvage 4x4 tiles. Depends on how good the initial mastic was.

- NO!, u can not lay linoleum over tile..it requires a flat smooth surface to bond to.......if ceramic tile just clean them, many products at lowes that will do it,.......if stick on tile just apply new stick on tile but off set the joints from the old ones! lic. gen contractor

- Q:I have tiles around all of my kitchen and would like to cover them. Can I skim plaster over them because it would take weeks to remove them? Is there any other way round avoiding removing them? Any ideas welcome. They are driving me up the wall, literally! HELP.
- Hi Neil There is tile paint on the market if it is only the colour you donot like. It maybe possible to fix plaster board over them and then plaster but check with a builder. Sarah Cox
- Q:I wanted to put ceramic tile over the linoleum (in good shape) in our bathroom (floor is concrete). Can I do this or do I need to remove all the linoleum? Thanks
- I don't know where everyone gets your info, you can put tile over linoleum but you must first rough up the surface for tile cement to adhere. Most manufacturers recommend 1 1/4 of sub floor so floor won't flex to much and crack the grout.
