Q:I think my water pump is going bad but figure id ask everyone to see what they thought. I leak coolant like the first 20 min i drive my truck and then it will seal itself up for the next day or two then start leaking again. It is getting leaked all over the belt and the fan is spraying it all around so you cant tell where exactly its coming from but i checked all the hoses and they are good and im pretty sure its not the radiator. Q:I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier the head gasket is shot[i think] checked thermostat and checked for clogs, flushed system, noticed bottom of radiator is cold but top is hot, is water pump shot?does not wiggle, or did i put thermostat in backwards? Q:I replaced the water pump on my 2001 dodge dakota and I still have a leak coming from somewhere. I don't know if i put the bolts in the wrong holes or what. Some bolts were long and some were short. Is there a diagram that shows where which bolts go where?: no their isn't any diagrams on it but there is a way to identify them, just run them in the hole dry and see if they bottom out and do them one at a time,as a rule i always mark them when i remove them then this doesn't ever happen,but you can get them figured out by dry testing them and also look at the difference in the thickness on the water pump,good luck on it,

Q:we changed the water pump it went bad and there is still a knock in it please help it is running really sluggish: engine was overheated and you may have damaged the head gasket or cylinder head. Cylinder compression test should be done to make sure that you did not blow the head gasket. Any trained mechanic should be able do this test for around $100.

Q:Why can't vertical water pump use spring shock absorber?: Building water supply and drainage and heating engineering construction quality acceptance specification (GB50242-2002) on the 4.4 water supply equipment installation 4.4.6 regulations. Because the spring damper is not conducive to the stability of the vertical pump running, therefore, the vertical water pump damping device should not use spring shock absorber.

Q:I have a 95 honda civic and I just got a new water pump. I need to know how to change it. I have an engine lift, I just want to know if the is an easier way?: the easiest way is to have some one else do it//if you finally end up doing it yourself dont forget to change t/stat at same time

Q:I have a Honda 20003 bf15 d short shaft Ineed to change the water pump I have removed the 5 bolts that hold the lower unit it on but the shifter is steal hooked up how doI unhook that?: Please get the workshop manual. From an imperfect memory it should be in forward gear to expose a link - but I could be confusing it with other brands. This brand has a known issue with the water pump if ever run dry as both the impellor and the housing can be damaged instantly. The pump should always be replaced as a full assembly, housing, seals and impellor, as detritus can easily block water galleries and that requires extensive work to remediate. The thermostat should be checked and replaced at the same time. Worn and damaged impellor material can easily end up through the block, head, thermostat etc. and that must be checked for as well. The lower cylinder can be down on compression caused by local overheating due to this and mud, sand and corrosion reducing water flow. An engine that very much must be flushed and looked after after all use - that includes all the larger models with this brand. They are quite a good engine, but seem very heavy for the output to me - particularly compared to lifting a two stroke on and off....

Q:Water pump is STILL constantly running! Since this past thursday, we did:new check valvenew pressure controlnew foot valve (well)well is not dryprime, air pressure are finewe have above ground pump in the basement. we called a plumber and he could do nothing! we have water and pump/tank and everything seem working fine.But the pump is on and off every 30 seconds - 1 minute. The pressure switch is what calls for it to run when the pressure drops. So if the bladder in the tank was bad it could cause an insufficient pressure fall and that is asking for the pump to run
