- Q:I bought some motorcycle speakers and im trying to figure out what to wire them into and how. I need to make sure the circuit im wiring into can handle the 100w speakers. Any ideas?
- do these have an internal amplifier? if so, just run a fused cable directly to the battery, and then a relay to the ignition wire if not, get a small amplifier and wire it that way, then wire the speakers to the amp then use whatever device you want to send the speakers their audio signal (i have an iPod hooked to mine)

- this may be completely ineffective to you yet stressed audio device sound more suitable that instantaneous ones because of lesser variety of variables. imagine - transmission loss/ conversion loss etc.

- alpine will sound better but wont take the same beating as a kicker speaker. and kickers will be louder anyhow, ive used the alpine r and s door speakers, sounded awesom but wont take the volume knob as good as other speakers, look into polk and infinity, overall great speakers

- When you unplugged your monitor speakers and plugged in your new speakers they should have just started on their own. No switching should be needed. ~ Are they turned on? Some have a switch on the speaker.

- wattage comes in two flavors Peak-to-peek and RMS. A speaker is rated in OHMS. A 2 ohm speaker that is driven by a 50 watt amp - will be MUCH LOUDER than an 8 ohm speaker, driven by that same amp. You actually can damage a speaker with an UNDER-POWERED amp as well what happens is the AMP can't keep up with the power demand so it DUMPS all it's wattage in spurts which can damage your VOICE COIL(S). A sub-woofer is a speaker or set of speakers which has a very low FREQUENCY BAND. they often require more WATTAGE to provide the same output when compared to BASS speakers or MID-RANGE speakers. - Kicker 11ds46 4x6 Coaxil Speakers Pair Rohs Co is a very common speaker size, so there are a billion choices out there. Me personally, I've got a soft spot for Kicker, they've never let me down in the past. Got these el cheapo ones to throw into my girlfriends car, and what do you know? They don't sound half bad.

- take the stereo out and cut the speaker wires and connect the speaker wires to your home shelf speakers with a long speaker wire.

- yes it would work but you would probably need to amplify the signal in some way the signal put out by the player wouldnt be sufficient to power a larger speaker all you'd need to do is solder the 2 speaker wires in each channel to 2 separate speakers and maybe put a switch so you wouldnt have both running when it was on and that would be it but like i said you would need to amplify the singal

- Well depending on what size of speakers you are replacing usually determines what size you should get. Example: My 1998 Chevy Lumina has a stock speakers size of 5.25 so when i upgraded speakers, i got a 5.25 Rockford Fosgate component system. If, however, you are just adding speakers and not replacing them. 6.5 speakers will give you a bigger bass, and a 5.25 or 5.5 speaker will give you more of your mid-range higher notes. So depending on how you like your music, will determine what speakers size you would want :D At least that's how i understood it! Hope this helped, Good Luck!
