- Q:I just purchased a 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i and I want to replace all 4 of the stock speakers in the front and rear door panels. One problem, I can't find the speakers size information anywhere!!! I checked the manual and all over the internet with no avail. I really dont want to remove the door panels just to measure the size, so if anyone has this information I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

- If you want a good system yes the quality of the speakers will matter. If you do not want top of the line sound system the quality of the speakers will not matter as much as it would compared to someone who wanted top of the line comp systems. - A very popular setup is Component Front and Coax Rear. Reason is Cost Efficiency. In a car, 70% of the sound quality comes from the front speakers, 30% from the rear. So 70% of your budget should be spent there. If you have $300 and you purchased $150 speaker on the front and $150 for the back. And your getting 70% of the sound from the front, you have lost sound quality potential. But if you get a $220 Speaker for the front, something real nice, and some ok speakers in the rear. Thats a better use of you money. If I had a car with a $200 speaker in the rear, another car with $150 speaker rear, and a third car with a $75 speaker in the rear, all 3 cars would sound similar (as far as the rear goes) So spend as much money in the front speakers as you dare. Like $200 Pioneer 720 C series, or Boston Accoustics S60 $220, or a Boston Accoustics SL60 (really nice set). Your polk audio is ok, but most installers laugh to themselves a little when they see polks. They aren't bad, but there are a lot of better choices, like at least Infiniti's The best component I have heard in the 200 $ range is the Pioneer 720 C series. It has a lot of surface area on the mid and a fantastic silk dome tweeter. At our shop, our best selling tweeter is a 500$ 720D series component. That thing rocks but the C series is 80% of the sound at the $200 price range.

- Most likely that's not the speakers but the deck. Speakers only mimic the signal being fed. If the signal has noise, the speakers will produce it. HOWEVER, if the speakers or speaker grills are loose and vibrate, they will be the culprit.

- Okay, let's solve this problem. Do both speakers sound fuzzy the same? Is there a buzzing sound in the speakers even when you are not sending music to them? Do you have a headset from an ipod or some other device you can plug into the earphone jack of the computer and see if it sounds okay? Are you plugged into the correct speaker jack. Powered speakers, speakers with a power cube in the wall outlet should be plugged into the Aux out jack of the computer, or line out, not the speaker out. The speaker out jack is for speakers which are not powered from a wall outlet. Maybe you have the speakers plugged into the wrong jack on the computer. Email me if I can give additional help.
