Q:Im buying my boyfriend speakers for his speaker box cuz his speakers broke. only thing i can find are car speakers but im not sure if they will work. could i connect them to his speaker box and have them work?
Speaker drivers (woofers, tweeters, etc.) are pretty much speaker drivers, whether designed for the car or the home. The difference is that the home speaker drivers are built for specific cabinet configurations (which actually provides an amount of frequency tuning), while car speakers are designed to be installed behind door panels, dash boards, etc. But, if you have a speaker cabinet (box) that is designed for car speakers, there's no reason you can't hook them up to a home stereo system.
Q:A computer technician told me to place my speakers away from my LCD monitor as the magnets in the speakers can cause the monitor to malfunction. Is there any truth to this?
PC specific speakers are typically shielded to keep the magnets from affecting a CRT monitor. But I never heard of magnets affecting an LCD. I was going to return a CRT monitor from work that I thought was defective because the image was bending and tearing at the top. But then I removed the user's digital clock from the top of the monitor, and the image was suddenly perfect. Apparently the transformer in the digital clock was affecting the CRT monitor.
Q:i got rockford fosgate 5 1/4 speakers in my wrangler. they run off my head unit putting about 50 to ea. which is no where near what they will take but they like buzz when someone is talking on the radio. anything that could fix that or even know why its doing that?
yeah there is a way. My husband does audio installation in his spear time and he has taught me alot there is this thing called a noise reducer that should do the trick and it is cheap and easy to install I hope this helps
Q:I have speakers from the JVC unit SP-HXZ30, and I want to hook them up to my new Yamaha RXV367. The speakers have four wires each, how would I connect both speakers to the receiver?
Ok, this may be a bit complicated so pay attention. There will be a quiz at mid-term. What you have here are three way speakers. There is a woofer, midrange and tweeter. The subwoofer is really just a woofer. Unfortunately for you it is not set up like a normal three way speaker. It is set up to be bi-amplified. What JVC did was they included a separate power amplifier in this system to power the subwoofer. That is why there is a separate input for it on the back of the speaker. In addition there is a filter in the main unit of the JVC that filters out the high and mid range sounds for the subwoofer amplifier. This is a problem as you are now using a Yamaha receiver instead of the JVC main unit. The Yamaha does not have this feature. These are the options: 1. Just use the top speaker terminal for the midrange (woofer) and tweeter: It won't sound very good. You will get little to no bass. 2. Jump the upper and lower speaker terminals: Highly inadvisable. As each section is 6 Ohms you will wind up with 3 Ohms and that is likely to be too low for the Yamaha receiver. It won't damage it, it will just go into fault mode and shut down. You will also have distorted midrange and highs coming through the woofer. 3. Get a subwoofer amplifier to power the bottom of these speakers and connect it to the subwoofer out on the Yamaha: A silly option really. This would cost as much or more than just getting better speakers. 4. Get better speakers: This is the best option. Those JVC speakers are plastic boom box speakers and are not nearly the quality of the Yamaha receiver. Use option #1 until you get better speakers.
Q:I have a honda civic 1995 and the speakers are in the back of the car and they sound like they are underwater. How much for new speakers and a iPod player in the car?? Thx for the answers
The speakers behind your rear seats should be 6x9 speakes I'm not sure though. The price range varies though. I say to get a decent pair of speakers it will cost like 50-60 dollars. Check Amazon or OKorder once you know the speaker size.
Q:Hello.I'd like to know how is that effect called, when the microphone input goes to speaker output and speaker output goes back to microphone, resulting in repeated amplification.Explanations why that happens or links appreciated, thanks.
It's also called howl around for obvious reasons.
Q:How to connect ordinery speaker to a computer(speaker with a red and black wire to connect)??
Is the ordinary speaker amplified? Does it plug into the wall? If not you will need an amplifier as a computer only provides line level outputs. Then you will need a headphone jack to RCA style adapter. Plug the headphone end to the computer and the RCA to the receiver/amplifier. Amplifiers designed for computers are rated at 4Ω and are unsuitable for ordinary 8Ω speakers. Hope this helps!
Q:anyone knows or owns 1 of these? i have a question. im told these are wireless. wireless speakers (satellites). my question is if the speakers are wireless how does it get its power? is it rechargeable. or i still need to plug it
Yes the rear speakers still need to be plugged in, and that's for each speaker. In other words each rear speaker has it's own ac plug. And also from what I've read you lose quality in the rear speakers they cannot produce 96 kHz/24 bit sound , only the wired ones can. Don't waste your money they are not great speakers. These are the puppies to get : Logitech? Z-5500 Digital 505 watts RMS I want them but can't afford them.
Q:If the speakers are very close (almost touching it) to the lcd monitor can they damage the screen or damage it in any way at all?The speakers are 2x40W btw.Tnx
Hi, Non magnetically shielded speakers can hurt monitors if placed too close to monitor. It is important to note that monitors that are tube based have problem with magnets. If you have a LCD then you are fine. If you have tube based monitor look for this sign: 1. Do you see abnormal pictures anywhere on the screen especially in areas near the speakers. Like rainbow effect. If so then move the speaker away till the effect is gone. Rainbow effect is a sign of magnetic interference. Usually woofers are biggest problem since they have bigger magnets. once you move the speakers away, the effect may not immediately disappear depending the strenght of the speaker magnets the effect will take more time. I would move the speakers away as far as possible and observer over time (few days) if the effect reduces. If it reduces but does not disappear then move the speakers away further till the effect is completely gone over time. 2. Sometimes having a coil of wire with current passing through it sitting next to the monitor can also cause magnetic interference. Remember the principals of magentism, coil of wire with live current flowing is certain direction will produce magnetism within the area, if you dont remember thats fine. Check for such coils too and move them away. Regards Ash Vote best answer if this helps.
Q:How can I hang outdoor speakers, I don't want to drill a hole in the side of my house for the wires. Is there anyway to avoid drilling a whole?
There are outdoor wireless speakers you can buy.
