- Q:I have a Philips 75 Watt sub and want some speakers to go with it. I don't have a lot of money and was thinking of just using computer speakers and connecting them together to my phone with 3.5mm splitters. How many Watts should the speakers themselves (not including the sub) be and what brand or specifically what speakers that are cheap and sound good should I get? They don't have to be computer speakers but they do need to have a 3.5mm connection or a way to convert to a 3.5mm connection.
- I don#x27;t know how the philips 75 watt speakers sound like, but you can try to find good speakers on OKorder for low prices. If your looking for better LOOKING speakers, water show speakers are good only 30 bucks but probably don#x27;t sound as good as your Philip ones. I#x27;m not an expert.
- Q:Does it matter if I replace 8 ohm speakers with 4 ohm ones?
- Yes. If you are only replacing the speakers. Since the amp powering the speakers will output at 8ohms and the new speakers will be 4ohms, your ohm load will be high to low. This will cause the amp to work twice as hard and it will overheat, if not fail.

- the reason your speakers aren't very loud is because the cd player's headphone jack isn't amplified. the only way to get your music loud enough without speakers that dont use batteries or wall jack would be to use speakers with low ohms, but that would burn out your cd player's headphone jack real quick like.

- depends on the speakers and the amp. you need to know how many ohms they are. more than likely 4ohm. really the only way you can do it is to wire them in series. unless you are talking about a box with subs it is really not all that easy. will take you some time. if your amp is 2ohm stable you can do it. just do not do it with the amp bridged. email me and i will send you a couple diagrams that will show you how to do this.
- Q:2003 CaravanDriver side speakers dont work. Originally thought it might be issue with factory deck. Installed cd player/ still no driver side sound.Used new speaker wire running directly from stereo to the factory clip for the door speaker. NothingWired directly from stereo to speaker w/o clip. - The speaker wires at the door sometimes get shorted - this can blow out the amplifier/stereo or a fuse if you are lucky. If you ran the cd player through the stereo - then I would start to suspect the left side ampl. Have you tried hooking the test speaker directly to the stereo? Have you removed the wring from the door side speaker- so that if there is a short it would not affect the good speaker. Hope this helps
- Q:How should I wire my 4 speakers to connect them to my 2 channel amp? Speakers are all 4 ohms, wattage matches, amp is 2 ohm stable. I realize they need to be wired in parallel but that doesn't mean anything to me. Looking at diagrams it seems like I will need a wire running between my front door speakers and a similar wire between the speakers in the rear deck. Rear deck would be easy but not from door to door. I also realize my ability to fade will be gone Any help will be much appreciated.
- m.seimg /product/img/subwoofer You don't have to do the parallel wiring from speaker to speaker. You can just run two sets of speaker wires from the amp terminals - one for each speaker -- it will still be wired parallel.
- Q:I have been looking for speakers for my truck and I was at walmart and meijer last night and determined that I would probably get the speakers from walmart because they have a larger selsction. But my question is, when the speaker box says Power Handling Peak 300 Watts what does that mean? Also what is a 3-way speaker, could you just tell me what those are and then list off other good thing to consider when looking for the right speaker set? I am just looking for a set of 2 speakers I believe they are 6X9 I have to make sure though, and I have a 4X45 watt stereo in the truck so if I get a 70 watt speaker I could get a more powerful stereo, right? - Peak is exactly that - the speakers can handle brief spikes of that power but are not rated to handle it continually. Good rule of thumb - get speakers rated at TWICE the output of your stereo - so for your 4x45, get 4 100W speakers - make sure the speakers and stereo are using the same rating system, as there are around 3 ways to measure power output in stereo systems.
- Q:I just got a hand me down laptop from my grandfather, and I can't hear audio from it. I plugged headphones in and that works fine, but other than that, the audio from the speakers doesn't work. I've tried going into the control panel and nothing I seem to do works. Can anyone help?
- Are you use computer speakers or speakers that have an amplifier with them? A computer audio out is not speaker level. It's much to low to drive speakers without an amplifier. It can drive headphones and the line-in to an amplifier but not speakers directly.
