- As bb stated No you do not have to use a center channel speaker it is not mandatory, it often not even needed in most home theater systems. in fact in many cases its actually better without one, and allow you left and right main speakers to cover the whole spectrum. Center channel speakers were mainly designed and used when dedicated home theater systems have large movie screens and the main speakers are very far apart, creating a whole in the middle of the soundstage. In most consumer homes we do not use huge movie screens and can position our main speakers at a reasonable distance apart allowing for good center fill, or good mono content. Like bb said when you go into speaker setup menu it will ask you if you are using a center channel speaker, simply say no and all dialog and center channel information will be directed to both the left and right main speakers. - Possibly your microphone is turned on in your Sound Settings or you have plugged your Speaker Wire into the Microphone Jack. After making sure, that you have plugged your speaker into the sound jack (The Green Color One), try playing the sound. If this is not the approach then, double click on the Sounds Icon on the Taskbar and uncheck the Microphone Option and try playing the file. If all of these did not succeed, make sure that your speakers are not faulty but connecting it to another PC, if one is available. - Well depending on what size of speakers you are replacing usually determines what size you should get. Example: My 1998 Chevy Lumina has a stock speakers size of 5.25 so when i upgraded speakers, i got a 5.25 Rockford Fosgate component system. If, however, you are just adding speakers and not replacing them. 6.5 speakers will give you a bigger bass, and a 5.25 or 5.5 speaker will give you more of your mid-range higher notes. So depending on how you like your music, will determine what speakers size you would want :D At least that's how i understood it! Hope this helped, Good Luck!

- alpine will sound better but wont take the same beating as a kicker speaker. and kickers will be louder anyhow, ive used the alpine r and s door speakers, sounded awesom but wont take the volume knob as good as other speakers, look into polk and infinity, overall great speakers

And yes Best buy will install your speakers even if you dont buy them off best buy its roughly 40$ an hour i believe they usually do 40$ per pair. Component Speaker Driver + A Seperated Tweeter usually placed in the pillars Coax Speaker Driver + Tweeter built in to speakers these can be 2 way or 3 way I prefer Coax myself, but to each their own, i would say get 3 way for the front, and two way for the rears, the rear is just a filler right so you dont need to be too sophisticated in the back uinless you really want to be.
- Q: Does anybody have these speakers, what are they like
- I like to sometimes play my music a little loud and these speakers handle it just fine, even with a song that has major bass to it. The design is nice too. I really appreciate the headphone jack located on the front of the speaker it makes it easier than trying to fool around in the back of the computer to plug headphones in. Also the sub woofer is not so big that you have no place to go with it. I was worried about the quality because the low price but Logitech has come through again!

- You have to be careful when adding multiple speakers to the same input. Your receiver is rated in ohms (resistance) that it can handle. If your receiver is 8 ohms and your current speaker is 8 ohms, great, everything will be fine. When you add another speaker to the same input one of two things can happen depending on how you connect it. Two 8ohm speakers wired in parallel ( both pos. and both neg. together) will result in your receiver seeing a 4ohm load, which could overload your amp. Two 8ohm speakers wired in series will result in your amp seeing a 16ohm load which is OK for your amp, but at 16ohms it will only output half as much power, and now between two speakers.

- If you want good speakers don't get computer speakers. Use a good set of stereo speakers and a good amplifier. Connect the speaker out from your computer to the line input on the amplifier. Then you can have some good sound. Just don't get magnetic computer media near the speakers. Keep the speakers at least 4 feet from you computer for safety as they have very strong magnetics in them and they aren't shielded.
