Q:Im buying my boyfriend speakers for his speaker box cuz his speakers broke. only thing i can find are car speakers but im not sure if they will work. could i connect them to his speaker box and have them work?: I've seen a friend do that - him and his dad built a custom wooden case, and mounted in a set of Sony xPlode's. Dam*, those were pretty kickin'. And I've done the reverse - I've used speakers from my bookshelf system in my car. - looked really ghetto having them in the back window and stuffed under my front seats, but it beat paying for new speakers.

Is there any truth to this?: If the speakers aren't magnetically shielded they can affect the monitor. Just try it and see. Put your speakers beside the monitor. Even home tower speakers are shielded now because people use them beside their big screen TVs. Buy new speakers if yours aren't shielded. Or keep them 2 feet or more away. I don't think it can permanently break a LCD monitor but it can a CRT monitor. My son put a magnet on my CRT monitor and it looked like a rainbow permanently. Also my old CRT TV got messed up from the VCR being too close.

You would set up the receiver for the front speaker ar large and turn off the center speaker. You can add the center speaker at a later date. Or you can look at a soundbar. Look at an Onkyo HT-S3500, it is a 5.1 receiver and a set of 5.1 speakers. This unit is available at Fry's Electronic for under $300. Hope this will help you out.

Q:i have an 04' Maxima and tha speakers are ok but not tha loudest,, but i found out that one speaker(front left) wasnt working,, so i decided to go ahead n buy new door speakers thinkin that would fix tha problem and give me better speakers,, but i started installin with tha front left speaker n when it was all hooked up i tested it and it was REALLY soft,, all of tha other speaker seem to work fine but a couple times in tha middle of a song tha bass will seem to kick in for a breif second. Any ideas about what might b wrong??: Step 1: Check to make sure the balancefade settings are neutral or biased to that speaker. Step 2: Do a continuity check on the speaker wire between the head unit and the speaker ends. (disconnect both ends) I suspect you have a short in the wire somewhere. If you dont have a multimeter, first check by hooking up a different speaker. If the other speaker still doesnt work then replace the speaker wire from the head unit (dont worry about running behind the dash ect yet, just hook up the speaker to see if it works).

Q:I recently bought an external speaker from CD-R King. Once plugged in my Asus K42F, a weird sound was produced by my Altec Lansing built-in speaker. When I unplugged it, the built-in speaker sounds like trash. Help everyone.: It is possible that the external speaker connector is bad, or the solder connections on it were bad, and plugging things into it are making the connections to the internal speakers worse. When you plug something into that jack, while connection is made to the external speakers or headphones, it also disconnects the internal speakers. If when you remove the plug, the contacts are not made solid to the internal speakers again, you could have a result like you are describing. If you put in your headphone plug, and move it around a bit, take it in and out a few times, does the other speaker ever cut back in for a few seconds or intermittently, and does the bad sound in the other speaker consist of the audio getting cut in and out or a scratchy sound? If so, could be that the external speaker/headphone jack is bad. One thing for certain, there is no way that the external speakers CAUSED damage to your notebook or it's internal speakers. YOU may have caused damage by putting too much pressure on the jack while plugging the speakers in, or when removing them. Or the jack could have been defective from the factory, or had a cold solder joint. Without being there to look at it myself, I can only give these guesses.
