Q: Hi there - I had a Mr Bean moment when hooking up my DVR and camera during a house renovation project. Basically, I put the cables the wrong way around so that the ends that go in to the DVR are with the camera and the ends that are meant to be connected to the camera are with the DVR.
Not, it is not.
Q: my friend and i were installing a subwoofer in his car and the rem cable touched the amp and caused a short. the cd player does not turn on any more and we could not find any problem anywhere the only fuse blown was the fuse on the power wire for the amp and that should not have any effect on the cars cd player what could be wrong? (the fuse on the back of the cd player was not blown this leads me to believe there is nothing wrong with the cd player and it is not fried)
Best possible answer, you could of just simply shorted the radio. Unfortunately it may be the truth.
Q: I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
If your power supply lacks the 4-pin connector, then you're probably going to need a new one. If your power supply has a 20+4-pin setup, then you should be able to use that however. The 4-pin can snap together with the 20-pin connector sometimes to make a 24-pin, but if it's not there altogether and your computer won't power on, then you will need a different power supply with the proper connector.
Q: Yjv22 what is the core of the cable? Copper core or aluminum core?
See home improvement or tooling, home improvement we will be buried in the trench below the pipe. Also need not particularly out of the picture, not so high demand. All the lines of the tooling must take the bridge, that is, from the ceiling to go, must be strong and weak to separate a distance, the line can not exceed 40% of the tube (tooling home improvement) to no longer clear the label is not OK, simply can not repair. And this is the national norm. Of course, the construction process of a lot of strong power or take the ground, but this is inside the floor. Can be drawn directly.
Q: I'm installing my car audio system in the morning. I have a 650w 4 channel amp for my four interior speakers and a class D monoblock amp for my sub.I have an 8awg wiring kit. If I split that to use it on both amps, it would end up at 16awg going to the amps. Is this thick enough for my setup?
1. We can't answer without knowing more about your amplifiers. 650w 4 channel doesn't tell us anything useful, because the power rating may be a peak number that's only good for marketing, and you didn't tell us anything about the monoblock amplifier at all. Give us brand and model numbers and we might be able to help. 2. If I split that to use it on both amps, it would end up at 16awg going to the amps ....no. That's now how it works. (I'm not sure how you envision splitting the wire to make two wires that are half the size; are you cutting it down the middle with a razor?) You can use a distribution block to connect both amplifiers to the same main power wire, but you don't have to go to a smaller wire out of the d-block: you can run 8-gauge wire from the battery to the distribution block, then more 8-gauge from the d-block to each amp. 3. Even if you did cut the 8-gauge wire in half, a wire half the size of 8-gauge isn't 16-gauge. It's 11-gauge. If you put six 16-gauge wires together, you'd get a wire that's a little smaller than 8-gauge. Please edit your question with the brand and model numbers of both amplifier, along with the estimated length of the wire run (ie, how many feet of wire do you need to go between the amps and the battery?) Then we can tell you what gauge wire you need. Edit: thanks for the update. Based on the information about your amplifiers, I don't think you should run both of them from the single 8-gauge wire. I'd switch to a 4-gauge dual amp kit, or you can buy a second 8-gauge kit and run each amp with its own power wire to the battery rather than sharing a single wire.
Q: You have not connected the power cable to your video card. Please refer to the 'C settings started guide' for proper hardware installation.

Q: While DISCONNECTED from the amp, I accidentally touched the power cable with the ground cable. Sparks went flying and I smelt a funny odor. Since then, when I go to turn on my radio, my amp only lights up for a second and then looses power. Unfortunately, I feel I've fried my ground wire (upon close inspection, the power/battery cables fuse is still good along with amp signal wire and RCA's) My question is simply this: When replacing my ground wire, can I use left over power/battery cable? I have about 3 feet left over from the install. Thank you for your help!!
Theoretically, yes. I would make sure I was the only one using the system or messing around with it just to make sure no one mistakes it for a power cord. Also, wrapping each end with black electrical tape will work to identify it is a ground cable, being that black is universally known for ground. If you feel like wasting good money, wrap the whole cord with black electrical tape. Also, keep it away from professional installers so they do not mix it up, or just let them know it is a ground. Just keep it short enough so that it actually works as a ground (most manuals recommend less than 3 feet)
Q: Hey I just recently bought a Randal RB200X bass amplifier combo but it came with no cables or power chords or anything. Can someone please tell me what I need to buy in terms of cables to turn this amp on? I am clueless and am really desperate! Please help.
Abes okorder ... All you need is a standard guitar cable to connect the bass to the amp.
Q: So I was replacing the processor in my Laptop (Inspiron M5030) and I accidentally puled apart the cable connected to the power button. I couldn't see a clear way to connect it back, and I was wondering if there was any way I could do it myself or would I have to buy a new part? It's not the end you plug into the computer itself, it's attached to the end that's screwed into the computer.
Hope this helps. Regards, GauravS
Q: 1 or two to use the other ones and its really annoying.. is there something that i can get that can give me more ide cables and also power cables inside the pc as well?
you have two IDE ports in your mobo, each one for an IDE cable.every IDE cable supports two devices - master and slave. so you can either: connect the two HD's together, one will be the master(where your primary OS is installed),the other one the slave.making sure the jumper pin configurations are set correctly for master and slave.you will find the instructions on how to do this on the stickers at the backs of these HD's nnect the two optical drives as well to the other IDE cable, same procedure, jumper pins, master and slave. or another way is you can connect one HD and one optical drive together on the same cable, master and slave. if you're not sure about the jumper settings, just use cable select option. or you can get an IDE PCI card adaptor.just put in into any free pci slot on your pc then connect the other devices to it. another way is to get SATA drives to free up the IDE connections.but you will need a SATA PCI card adaptor,if your mobo is not equipped with a sata port. as for the power supply, the cheaper alternative is to get multiplier cables.they are short cables like the ones you see in your pc.one end is a male connector that you connect to the power cable(the cable connected to your device),on the other end are two female connectors for your devices.but you have to take into consideration the wattage of your installed powerbox.it is intended for the wattage of your system, usually manufacturers give a higher wattage rating than what is actually written on the label, for safety reasons, but don't count on that because it's going to be a very small margin.if your powerbox gets really too hot,get a new one with higher watt rating. with four devices - two HD's and two DVD Drives, you shouldn't have any problems at all regarding your IDE connections. but why is your soundcard connected to your IDE cable? if that is the case then you have to get a PCI soundcard. hope that helped.cheers.good luck.
