I have a pathfinder with an annoying alarm. If I take ou the Horn fuse will the alarm stop going off. It is SOOO loud that people at work and in my apartment complex want to gag me and kill me - but don't want to pay 50 bucks to have it shut off. Or what fuse number would it be?? It was already there and i bought it used, so there's not a manual.Thanks for any feedback!!!

The costs of the materials is easy to figure. If you use flex pipe then it should be about $20.00 for the flex pipe and then there are the fittings at $5.00 per end, and a valve if they can not reuse the old one. But you may be required by code to use black pipe, then both the labor and materials will be a bit more. Local building codes vary especially if you live in Chicago (stricter codes - unneeded by unions). Then you have the question of labor. Are you going with the joists or perpendicular to them?. The labor should not be more than a couple of hundred. But is this a part of the overall project or do you need to have a separate plumber come in for the job? It is more if not a part of the original estimate and a different contractor needs to be called in that was not scheduled. All in all you should be able to get this done for less than $300.00. It could be as cheap as $100.00 You have a lot of variables that come into play.

I just moved to a new house (less than 2 years old). The contractor who lived in it put in a central smoke alarm system. Each room has its own smoke alarm and when one goes off, they all go off. Problem is, one always chirps (in the upstairs bedroom). It started to be once a month. We would hit the reset button, ALL of them would squeal for 30 seconds, and all would be fine. Then the same one would start chirping every week. NOW it's every 3 days!Does this matter? We live in a two story home. We live on the first floor and don't purposefully heat the upstairs. The smoke alarm that goes off is in the upstairs bedroom (unused).At first I thought it was carbon monoxide and I put a detector in there but it still reads zero. It seems like they are plugged in and not battery operated. Well, we can't figure how to get the covers off of them. Who should I call? An electrician? I don't know the brand of alarm system.

You can find out if it has a bayonet fitting by asking Comet and they are obliged to answer truthfully. If both have a bayonet hose then you should just need to unplug the old one and plug in the new one without a gas man. If the new one has no hose which is unlikely then the gas man could easily put the old one onto the new cooker if it is in good condition.

The tubing can be bent if you are careful not to try to bend it too short. It will bend easier if you heat it first. You can bend it once and it will start to harden. Just heat it a bit and it will bend easy.

Pretty dicey giving fire and respiratory hazard advice here. Most heating devices need to be properly ventilated for efficient operation as well as safety. Before removing any pipes, I would contact your local fire department and ask them to look at it. After all, that is their profession.

These rules are extremely strict. As a 15 year old girl myself I would have to say your household sounds like hell to me. You have a no slouching rule? Wtf?! It's fine to enforce good posture in your children but it is unnecessary to have it as a rule. These rules will just make your kids resent you. I can't believe that you have a constant positivity rule. No one can be positive all of the time. And you aren't allowed to change tv channels? Tv time should be limited I agree, but if you are the only ones watching tv you should be able to change the channel. No electronics? Yeah hell no. monitor their internet activities and block certain websites but not ban the Internet. And no makeup until 9th grade? You should have at least 15 minutes of shower time, cause we girls have a lot of stuff to do in there. Why the hell aren't you allowed to have painted nails until fifth grade?! These are some ridiculous rules. And your grades have to be 85 or above? Some children are academically inclined some are not. This rule should be changed to try your hardest in school, and get work done and passed in on time. You should have cellphones in case of emergencies. It's fine that you can have 2 baths a week but you should be able to pick which days. If I had to wake up at 7:30 every day I would go insane. You should be able to sleep in on the weekend. You should be able to put their feet on the couch, as long as they're clean. You should be able to socialize out of school unless they would like you to become hermits in later life.
