Q:im a new rider, and next week i will got my first pony. i wanna buy some rugs for him. Couly you introduce different rugs and good brands.im in UK.xx
Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
Q:I'm not sure if that's what it's called, but you rake ur carpet between sweeping- to make it look nice.
This Site Might Help You. RE: I'm looking for a good quality Carpet Rake? I'm not sure if that's what it's called, but you rake ur carpet between sweeping- to make it look nice.
Q:I have carpeting that I just got in December of 07 and in a rush yesterday, left my hair straightener turned on setting on my carpet! I got home and notice it was still on and it has scorched my brand new carpet!!!! So stupid, I know! Its a small spot, but its now brown and my carpet is very light tan mix so it shows well. Is there anything that I can do to bring the color back or at least make it look a little less obvious without replacing the carpet?
You can fix it. The repair is called a carpet patch. What is done is the burned area will be cut out completely so all you see is the carpet padding. Then you take a piece of carpet from a closet and cut it to fit the hole, Then glue it in. It is more complicated than that of course, but it can be done. Some carpet cleaners can do it or an installer can do it but ask if they have done them before. Note: if the carpet in the damaged area is worn you will have a visible difference between the worn carpet and the new carpet, but it should look better than a burn.
Q:i really don't understand the rug sizing.Could somebody please explain:a: roughly what size rug fits what size ponyb: what size would fit my Welsh Sec C stallion?
You can measure your pony from the center of his chest to the center of his butt (across the barrel of his body) That measurement for a pony is generally in the 60-70 range, give or take. (inches) We have a 13.1 pony who wears a 62 and another who wears a 66. It depends on how long his body is. Your best bet is to measure. Or try one on. Happy shopping :)
Q:is it bad to leave wet rugs on horses?
If the rug is soaked through change it but if its not it won't do any harm and alot of people prefer to leave a wet rug on to dry off. It's a personal choice and like everything else you get people on both sides of the fence. Just do what you think is best for your horse. You can buy rugs that are for stable/turnout in one rug so they are meant to stay on the horse 24 hours long as you take off and put back on at least once a day. And what about horses living out in rugs? their rugs get wet and they stand in them till they dry.
Q:Ok i just got new ferrets and every time they go onto my living room rug and then sniff it they start bugging out like they'll keep jumping really high sometimes almost flipping and then start rolling around and its only when they sniff the rug is when they do this and they do it every time. Is it bad for them to be going on that rug?
They are excited to be in a new room. This is called the weasle war dance they are doing. Means they are happy.
Q:I've had this area rug/carpet for a few years. It still looks great, but it has fold marks, and I always have to pull it to even it out, I believe it is caused by the coffee table. Is there a way to undo this?
Try using a carpet cleaner with very hot water. When it dries it might pull the fibers back into place.
Q:Does anyone know what a Shag rug is?
a rug with a long pile like a sheepskin type
Q:Every inch of the carpet is soaked!
Depends really....If it is just water and it was not there for long then the answer is probably yes it can be saved But you will need to move quickly.Obviouly get rid of the standing water as soon as possible and then get some fans going and possibly some sort of heater to speed the drying .Its going to take days to dry out so be patient
Q:I need to settle an argument with my husband on this one, does anyone know first hand if steam vacs ruin your carpet?
I've been using them for years...in fact I owe several different kinds, always searching for a better model with 3 cats, and 2 dogs. And I never had a problem with them ruining my carpets.
