- i own a pool company and your better automatic pool vaccums would be either a polaris or a creepy crawly but you can get them cheaper online then in a pool store. look under pool companies

- I have a built in vac. No need for hepa filters or vac bags all the dirt goes in a can in the garage and vents to the outside and the noise is out of the house. It's very powerful. It's the best.

- I'm assuming you no longer have the instructions that came with it? Google the make and model number there should be onlilne instructions. I've washed vacuum cleaner filters before, but they usually don't work as well after.

- What about Kirby Vacuum Cleaners? I know they're are noisy, and grossly over priced. You can talk the salesman down to around $600.00. Check first to see if the salesperson is driving a cadillac Escalade. Also, the sales people prey on old people, and will not leave the home until the unit is sold.
- Q:If i reduced considerably the size of the hose of a vacuum cleaner say by 4, is the suction power goin to increase by 4? Since pressure is equal to force/area. im trying to make my vacuum cleaner ultra powerful. thank you.
- No it will not increase. The velocity at the nozzle will increase but lifting power will not, it will pick up small objects better but not larger ones. The danger is that most vacuum cleaners rely on the flow of air through the motor to cool it, when you reduce this by restricting the nozzle you may overheat and burn out the motor !
- Q:My wife and I are stumped trying to find an answer. I have these crazy bouts of itching that is seemingly not stopping. I went to the allergist and had some allergy test ran. He said that I am allergic to dust mites, grass/weed, and cat hair. We have been cleaning our house top to bottom with a Hepa filter vacuum (Dyson) and installed bed covers and pillow covers that are dust mite proof. We have wiped down the walls, the roof, and pretty much everything but the itching continues. I don't go outside much and work from home. Does anyone know of what might cause this? We have ruled out lice or bed bugs. I don't know if it helps much but I've had gastric bypass surgery. Please help...we are driving ourselves nuts with the constant cleaning and vacuuming. I've tried Cortozone 10 and allergy meds but they only seem to put a small dent in the itching.
- Dyson vacuum cleaners are CRAP! If I ever own one, it will be on it's way out the door to the curb (expensive heavy piece of junk Dyson) and my Kirby would still be in my home, running perfect. Dysons NEVER had good suction (and destroys carpets), while the Kirby vacuums have OUTSTANDING suction! If a retail salesman shows you how well it works (in the store), you will be amazed! But that is because the model of Dyson he is using is modified.....Buyer be ware. Dysons are just expensive heavy pieces of flimsy plastic junk and the filter is also CRAP (compared to the Kirby's Hepa filter bag)!
- Q:My Hoover Wind Tunnel canister vacuum cleaner, which I purchased less than two years ago, bit the dust. I took it in to the authorized Hoover repair shoppe, and it will cost more to fix the darn thing than what I paid for it (well over 230 bucks). I bought it because Consumer Reports recommended it. It worked great (when it worked) but I had to take it in to repair the latch which kept the head on the wand and that cost and now this. I read up on the internet and find all sorts of complaints about Hoover, that it is no longer the company that it used to be (since it sold out to Maytag). My question is, what is a great vacuum cleaner that will not break the bank and will last more than two years? I have a dog, four kids with a stay-at-home mother so it needs to be durable, powerful, non-dust emitting, etc. Thank you very much for your input, especially personal experience with what has worked for you.
