Q:I have a ‘94 F-150 and I just noticed that the muffler has holes and the rest of it is in bad condition so I am going to replace it all. The previous owners got aftermarket exhaust and it is all welded on. The Haynes manual can‘t tell me how to do it because the stock exhaust was clamped on. Thanks!
Since you're replacing it, just go ahead and remove it with any means available to you. You shouldn't need to make more than two cuts to remove the exhaust pipe, muffler, and tailpipe. If the brackets / hangers are in okay shape you may want to save them.
Q:It‘s a 1999 Camaro V6. I‘m afraid that if I put something wrong on it. It would sound like Crap. It‘s single a exhaust now.
Not much. There is no maintainance on the exhaust system except maybe for the rubber hangers that hold up the exhaust. Sometimes in older vehicles, oil leaks from the engine might pass through to the exhaust (unusual oil smell) and clog/damage the oxygen sensor that is connected to the exhaust. Depending on the actual exhaust material, this might damage the muffler itself. There is no actual schedule maintainance for the exhaust system.
Q:Tougou tank exhaust system throughput is not correct
Not very right
Q:If so which one would you reccomendI drive 44 miles a day on the thruway from to school and back
I will say it increase horsepower, but, you may actually see a decrease in fuel mileage. The reason for this is your opening up the air flow through the engine, which causes the vehicle to run lean. The computer will then adjust the fuel/air ratio by supplying more fuel to the injectors. Years ago I had a Trail Bike and I removed the stock exhaust and installed a Bassani Expansion Chamber. When I gave it the gas, it would cut out on me. I had to install the next Bigger fuel jet in the carb. It run like a wild bat out of hell then, but, it did use a little more fuel than before. Dodge Man below me is probably correct as I not as familiar with this car as he is. I did want to tell what I did on my truck with a 350 V-8. I converted from a Throttle Body Injection to Muti-Port and added a different cam and direct drive timing. To keep the headers quite. I installed FOUR Cadillac reverse flow mufflers, two on each side. I got both; more power and fuel mileage, but, for what this cost to do, I will have to drive many years to realize any profit from this conversion.
Q:well my kia has a exhaust leak right were the exhaust pipe connects to the motor and im t5rying to figure out the name of the part
The gasket between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold needs to be replaced. Go to the library and look in Chilton's Auto Repair manual, before you make some serious mistakes.
Q:I have a 1994 Camry LE V6 and its really loud cause there's a hole somewhere in my exhaust system, the noise is in the front end and i was wondering what it would cost to get it fix. Just want a rough idea of the cost.
you dont really need to add anything to the fuel to increase lubricity.the cummins fuel pump uses the engine oil to help keep it lubricated. the military uses cummins engines in several of their vehicles, and these trucks are running on jp-8, a cheap grade of jet fuel which has virtually nil lubricity
Q:I have a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon and looking to put a good sounding exhaust on it, I was think Megan Racing but not sure
I would advise not putting an exhaust on the car. I find it very annoying as a pedestrian to hear braaaaahhhhhhheerpopbrahhhhhhhh. at every intersection from a car taking off with a custom exhaust. Many people consider such cars as ricers. However, it's your car and this is just my opinion, what ever makes you happy :)
Q:Hi, I have a 1994 Buick Skylark Limited. The exhaust/Muffler/system hasn‘t been changed yet for the most part. Over the past 5 months, the car has been getting louder, and running worse. Some things that happen is that the Car‘s Idle is Real Rough and unstable, the car will randomly Stall, and the muffler is quite loud. It also takes around 3 seconds of holding the ignition turned to keep the car on. When I come to a stop or slow down near stop lights, it bogs. The car also has a hard time Accelerating now. Most of the time I use the car, it‘s short trips less than 10 miles. It sits outside, and it was a harsh winter. This problem has been getting worse over the last 5 or so months, and it‘s at the point where I need something looked at.Does this sound like a specific problem with the exhaust system, Do i need to change the whole system, or only one or 2 parts ?Thanks to who replies
Try a complete tune-up, and have your catalytic converter checked, it may be clogged if the exhaust is that old.
Q:my heat shield fell off my 1991 caprice classic. it‘s located between the gas tank and the rear exhaust. the mechanic told me it does not have to be replaced. is this true?
If you see smoke and fire you should fix it.
Q:I want dual exhaust on my 2009 Mustang v6. I just want to know if anyone has put on a Mustang GT take-off exhaust system on their car. If anyone knows how to do this and what Parts i will need it would be much appreciated. I think all i need is a Catted x exhaustThe mid pipes of a GTand the mufflers. But, will this bolt right on to my headers? Im just hoping its an exact match.
no it will not. same reason the front clip wont fit on a v6, they just arent compatable. you can get dual xhaust for ur v6 tho wont sound nearly as good because its a 6 cyl. the pistons dont fire equally. i dont think pistons is the right word but it wont sound as good at a v8
