Q:How the Exhausts System and Header improve performance in Civic 05?
Yes it is for ceramic. I think the kiln could be built with bricks and fire+oxygen. Look at how the first clay builders did it if you want old school tech. I believe they used charcoal. Your oven will not get hot enough and sustain the heat needed with out burning the house down. You can build a small charcoal kiln for not much. It will take 10 times the time used to make the object you wish to fire.
Q:i know nothing when it comes to mechanics but i want my 08 Chrysler 300C 5.7 RWD to have a throaty rumble when i accelerate and quiet at idle. If you could give any suggestions on a brand and what is needed, i would be grateful.
cat back is a name brand exhaust system.Try magnaflow
Q:I have a 2010 Lancer gts and I‘m goin to be buying a greddy catback exhaust system for it alone with a test pipe to replace the cat and also headers. Has anyone ever used greddy and can you tell me what you think? I‘m lookin to get some power increase and a lower grumble sound not a ricy sound.
first off DO NOT put a test pipe on a N/A car, you will get reversion which will HURT power not help it, but more on that later. The Greddy systems are nice and deep as long as you get the higher end models, like either the Ti-C, or Evo2. The SP systems are really quiet and sound almost like stock. The header is a good choice as long as you don't skimp. Now back to reversion. I will try to explain it as simply as possible. Your cylinder moves up an down in the engine block creating exhaust gases to expel out of the exhaust, as this is going on you have a push/pull effect on the air it is making. The catalytic converter helps trap gases from being sucked back into the combustion chamber keeping negative pressure (reversion) from filling the combustion chamber decreasing efficiency at which the fuel is burned, now keep in mind that your engine is sometimes going 6,000-7,000 RPM per minute meaning several strokes per second. On a turbo car the turbo actually acts the same as a catalytic converter because the impeller cannot spin both back and forward at the same time. This is where a high flow catalytic converter comes into play. This would be your best choice.
Q:one of my friends has an exhaust system on his car that he can control to connect or detach?or something like that. so he can drive around with the exhaust soundin all badass but when he sees a cop, he can make it really quiet.does anyone know how to get this done or what its called?
it's called , illegal. you can disconnect the flow of exhaust to your muffler, therefore allowing a loud noise, but you also bypass your emission control.it can only lead to more problems then it's worth.if you go down this path expect more problems then a cool noise is worth !
Q:I want to learn about exhaust systems. I want to buy a V6 mustang a change the exhaust to dual exhaust, which I have no idea on how to change it but want to learn on my own. Can someone teach me the names and the pipes and the connections? I have no idea. I know a V6 with upgraded exhaust wont sound as good as the GT.
You are not a kind of folks that considers this truck, as you describe it, in 'well' situation, do you? It is in reasonable situation, at excellent, and a few shops could say 'deficient'. Blue guide does not subject. A auto/truck is most effective valued at what any one is inclined to pay for it. If you fairly consider any one could pay over $five,000 for a truck with 100K+ miles, a cracked windshield, frame harm and the verify engine gentle on, then you've got stars to your eyes.
Q:Hi, I have a ford ranger 54 reg 2.5td supercab and i want to make it sound awesome. But i have no clue what to get to make it sound nice. Could i just buy a muffler or would i have to get a new exhaust or just buy a new back box? Would it be expensive and easy to put on? Can universal exhaust systems, muffler, back boxes fit on a ford ranger or would i have to buy specific parts for the truck (customised)?Does anyone have suggestions for parts and internet webites (preferbly uk postage)? Do performance exhausts make it a lot faster with a awesome sound? Thanks a lot, Joe
by adding an exhaust system, you will probably free up the exhaust, giving the engine a little more power. by just changing the muffler, you will get the sound, but not the benefits of a full exhaust system. over here in the USA, you see a lot of Flowmaster and Magnaflow mufflers. check youtube and you'll probably find a video of a truck similar to yours and you can see what you like. as for where to go, it shouldn't be hard to find a kit made for the truck. if all else fails, any exhaust shop should be able to fabricate one from scratch.
Q:How much would a new exhaust system be for a 86 honda accord hatchback?
Well I have a chevy impala that has a cat-back it cost $650 with install. So for your car its probably around $400 since it's only 1 can and 1 pipe. Headers are where things get expensive
Q:Today it started making a loud lawn mower type sound. I asked a friend he said my exhaust manifold was cracked. Im sure its omething exhaust system related because i can smell the fumes from the car are pretty strong. I havnt hit or run over anything in the road. The only thing i can think of is from driving my car pretty hard the past few weeks. Im always running late to work.2008 Chevy cobalt LT 2.2 engine i think, 106000 miles on it
Easily checked, start the engine and have someone press a rag against the tailpipe. The back pressure will make the point of leaking very obvious. But if you are smeeling it, it probabli is somewhere about the engine. It is of course, dangerous to inhale exhaust gases, especially the carbon monoxide component. You should effect repairs ASAP.
Q:Monday on my way to work (at 4:30 AM so I am beloved in the neighborhood), it was apparent to me that I needed a new muffler. I finally had a chance to look yesterday and, yep, there‘s a nice spot where it has rusted through. Now, if you want your sump pump replaced or a legal brief written, I‘m your man, but I know next to nothing about cars. When I take my car in to have the muffler replaced, if I am told that the exhaust system also needs work, how can I know if it truly does?
I don't see anything wrong with getting a second opnion. Go to another shop and see what they say.
Q:I was wondering what kind of exhaust system to get for my Firebird 92. I am looking for the best one for the best price with the best performance for my model of Firebird. I would like it to be a dual exhaust I was looking at some of the flow master exhaust systems but all it said about them was what kind of series and not much about the performance. My car is just a regular Firebird and not a trans am so please don‘t think that it is just a 5.0L V8 engine with dual exhaust but still has a bit of fight in it but would like to add a bit more. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Dynomax UltraFlo SS cat-back exhaust system $317.00 from Summit Racing, for a good start. Flowmaster is restrictive junk, Dynomax outflows them by 48%, stock exhaust flow rates (in CFM) are even worse, completely horrific numbers! Headers are a going to be problematic, and engineering a true dual exhaust with X-Pipe crossover and still being able to pass inspection is an expensive proposition. You really might want to start with an Eddy (Edelbrock) High-Flo TPI manifold first and then play with exhaust system improvements. Real improvements in HP and Torque are accomplished with parts made of steel and aluminum not chips.
