- Q: I want an exhaust system for my camaro that has a low, aggressive sound but also not insanely expensive. Preferably under $600. Thanks
- Just say no to glasspacks on LS1's! I would save a little more money up over the next several months, and get a Borla cat back system for the car. Its not necessarily insanely expensive, but it ain't the cheapie system, either. Flowmaster is good, but razzy in comparison to the Borla. In deference to the other posts, Magnaflow is good, and I even had a Magnaflow on my 2nd gen Camaro, but it isn't the best note. Remember also - you're talking about an exhaust SYSTEM, not just the muffler - you'll want the mandrel bent pipes and proper fitment under your fourth gen. The Borla system is the best combination of quality and sound, and worth the extra few dollars. Cheaping out on your car's exhaust now will only disappoint you later - don't be tempted to go for something a little less just because you can afford it!
- Q: i dont know too much but. i know there are the headers, some h/x pipe and the tips i guess. :[can someone tell me in better terms than i describe and if i missed anything?
- on the side of the engine you have an exhaust manifold with a pipe coming out from the piston ports. Usually four ports blend into one pipe and on a V-8 eight ports blend into two pipes which come under the car to one or two(depending on how many exhaust pipes) catalytic converters that aid in environmental cleanup of the fumes. From there extension pipes lead to the muffler(s) and then another extension goes out the back or side of the vehicle; often times to a tuned exhaust tip. Some racers incorporate an exhaust cutout in the system before the catalytic converter to divert the gasses to a straight pipe for higher horsepower. This is a loud, usually illegal modification but winning is everything in the streets. All this is suspended from the car by a series of U shaped bolts and nuts attached to rubber connectors and the body of the vehicle; and there are gaskets at the manifold to prevent noisy blowby at the manifold.
- Q: hi people i am put up at India gt; Chennai have a Mahindra Scorpio CRDe 2006 modelI basically love to modify my car n i was looking forward to adding an exhaust system to my car (as i love that vroom. sound), but i was told that there was no aftermarket exhaust system available for the Scorpio. i am thinking of adding vinyls, custom paint job n some performance parts (a little help on the available ones would be appreciated)Awaiting ur reply people.TanQ.
- if you want an exuast system that is affordable i would recommend a two and a half inch alpine tip will give you a nice rumble down the street, Not being a performance car, a complete system is going to be very rare so your best bet will be to get a custom one made up by any competent exhaust shop. Tell them what you want from the system and they should know how to improve it
- Q: Please refer to the engine, check the exhaust system, what reason.
- Hello there! Check to see if there is a leaky place, hope my answer can help you
- Q: FAW-Volkswagen Jetta exhaust system failure light is what the problem
- (ECU) can not get the oxygen concentration of the exhaust pipe of the information, so the air-fuel ratio can not be feedback control, will make the engine fuel consumption and exhaust pollution increases, the engine appears idle speed is not Stable, lack of fire, surge and other fault phenomena. Therefore, the failure or replacement must be eliminated in a timely manner.
- Q: Alright, i need a little help here. So I‘m going to give an example so that I can get a remedy to my questions. Thank you for your help! :DSo lets say you have a 1 inch exhaust system all throughout that can let out 10 litres a second (Thats pretty standard, right? I think.), and you‘re using a 1.3l 4 cylinder engine, and you‘re chugging along at 2000 RPM.So to my understanding;2000 RPM / 4 RPM (Ever 4 RPM all 4 cylinders have had one exhaust stroke) 500 RPM / 60 (I need the per second rate) 8.3 RPM x 1.3litres 10.8litres per secondSo clearly this set up has some back pressure equivalent to .8 litres a second since the exhaust can only handle 10 litres per second. Now I KNOW I‘m wrong since I‘m missing a few things; Speed of the gasses, how many RPMs it takes for all 4 cylinders to go throughout an exhaust stroke (I think I‘m wrong), and how to convert litres into psi, and what psi is needed to create a scavenging affect.
- Statements: Cylinder capacity is the swept capacity, and can be expressed in liters That is the bore area times the length of the stroke times the number of cylinders All four cylinders exhaust once every two revolutions. (See engine displacement at pedia.) Your 500 RPM divided by 60 is wrong. It is not 500 RPM, but 1000 exhausts per minute. And that number is multiplied by 60 to get exhausts per second, not divided by 60. So, for every 2000 revolutions you get 1000 times four exhausts. Now things get complicated. The total cylinder volume is not 1.3, but 1.3 plus the volume of the head space. The engine needs space for the sparkplug penetration and for valve movement. We do not know at what pressure the exhaust system handles 10 liters per second, nor how much back pressure are willing to have Air comes in at some unknown temperature. It is heated in the cylinder, so when it is released it expands. We do not know the temperature of the exhaust gas. Added to the new volume is the volume of gas generated by the combustion process. There are too many unknown variables to allow us to generate a formula. In engine design, bench testing determines the numbers you are looking for.
- Q: I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi with factory exhaust system. Looked at some aftermarket kits and decided to maybe have the local exhaust shop run duals from the cats back out to the rear with either 2 magnaflow or flowmasters. Question is, will this be sufficient to at least not loose any torque or hp? Not neccesarily looking for big hp gains but dont want to loose any low end torque. And really hoping for a gas mileage improvement and a bit deeper sound. Just don‘t wanna loose any useful back pressure. Also wondering if getting rid of the resonator will make the cabin drone sound that I can‘t stand. Thanks.
- u need a aif filter of some sort to filter teh air going into ur motor. otherwise ur sucking in trash and dirt wich will lead to engine failure.u can pick up a universal filter that shud slide right onto the mass air sensor for under 20 bucks at a parts store
- Q: I was originally look at the 2.5 exhaust system APS made, but then I came across this one.
- Some do and some don't. It depends on what and whom you are buying the system from. How many miles are on this car? Cats are warrantied for 8 years / 80,000 miles. By the way, you can get that cat replaced a LOT cheaper. I can buy that cat for about $350 through NAPA. Labor to replace it is around an hour. The dealership is screwing you (no surprise there). Find a nice independent shop you can trust and start taking your car there. And speaking of dealerships screwing you.it is a little unusual for your cat to be bad at this point unless you failed to perform your regular scheduled maintenance (plugs, wires, etc.). How do you know it's bad? Are you taking their word for it? I wouldn't. It was diagnosed by a flat-rate mechanic who was probably short on his paycheck and working for a dealership. All dealerships are hurting right now because of the economy and are looking to make up their shortfalls through their service department. I had three people come to my shop last week after visiting their respective local dealerships. All three had completely bogus estimates for work that was completely made up. None of the things the dealerships said were bad were in fact bad. Every single on of them were incidents of the dealerships trying to steal money from hard working decent people.
- Q: Please tell me where can I find them and does the whole exhaust take away the warranty, if yes how about just the exhaust tip?
- Exhaust tips don't void the warranty. All they are is appearance accessories. They are 100% generic. All you need to know is the size of the pipe. They have no function at all. You can buy them at any auto parts store. If you want to replace the entire exhaust system or just the mufflers those modifications will void the warranty. You can buy them from any muffler shop.
- Q: were and how can i get a GT-R exhaust for a pontiac G6
