- Q: I am going to replace the exhaust system with either a Borla or a Stillen exhaust system. Which is better?
- neither, the Invidia is the best for both sound and performance, also price. The Invidia N1 is about $700 for the dual outlet model and made 15 rwhp on a STOCK car, the Stillen model dual exhaust with crossover made 12 rwhp and costs $1,200, the Borla sounds like crap, and made 11 rwhp on a stock car and costs about $700 also. I changed from a Stillen dual outlet to a Invidia and it was a NOTICABLE difference in both power curve and throttle response. If you are interested in the Stillen exhaust, I still have it and will sell it for $450.

- It really depends on the vehicle and other mods done to it. Sometimes opening up the exhaust too much will actually cause a loss in power. The manufacture of the exhaust you are considering should have some car specific data available and maybe even online.

- your right there is no way you can have it sound like a v8. if i were u wi wold do a flow master. its is a very muscle car culture and very in yet very well known and effective. bottom line. your car is not meant to sound mean. but with the right exhaust and intake you can be in the right place. can i just ask? why didn't you get the v8? or a saleen? i just don't understand why people get wanna be muscle cars?

- I'd be hesitant to buy used exhaust system components, just because your life might be at stake. Exhaust leaks are very dangerous. However, having said that, I'd check very carefully for dents, breaks, rust or corrosion. Make sure that everything looks to be in top notch condition. FriPilot

- FMF or Pro Circuit. White Bros makes a great exhaust system too, and thats what Team Yamaha uses. Dr. D and Big Gun make great systems as well. But if you are looking for quality, and something that will not only look good, but perform good, look at pro circuit. I like them better because thier mounting points are not hardend plastic like FMF and the others.They are metal. and in case you crash, it will hold up better and not break

- start it, make sure it starts quick, listen for any strange engine noise, make sure the exhaust doesn't smoke, make sure there are no dents and scratches, meaning someone tipped it over, take it for a test ride if possible

- Were you pulled over in California? I believe you pay the fine, and change out hte muffler. If you got state reffed that would be a problem tho because the stations are closed.
- Q: my system is apparently rotten form the end all the up to the catalytic converters, so would it be cheaper to get stock exhaust or aftermarket, any suggestions and if i buy a new system where does is start because the mechanic said i needed everything from the catalyitic converter back.it s a 1990
- A aftermarket stainless steel cat back exhaust is what your car needs. Nissan Mufflers and mid pipes are to expensive even if you could find them. Like the term Cat back means the two exhaust flanges right below the drivers seat rearward.
- Q: I have a 2008 civic coupe that i wanted to add a custom exhaust to. I just bought a Apexi N1 Universal muffler because i am worried about Massachusetts Laws against noise polution or discrimination towards loud imports. Anyways, Would the Apexi N1 Catback system have been better than the universal muffler being taken to the shop and having a 2 1/4 custom pipe installed from the Cat back? I‘d say it would be no different, right? Another question, How much different would the 2 1/4 pipe make from the cat back rather than leaving the stock pipe in and just adding the N1 Muffler?I would add a high flow cat but im afraid it wont pass emissions?I would also add a Header but im afraid that wont pass emissions?Doing a complete custom exhaust system would cause nothing but problems with emissions and the police, right?I want to do it up but i want to know what would be the best setup that I could get away with and still pass emissions.Can anyone Help?
- Unless you plan to do some knee dragging and riding way over your head I see no reason why these tires would be a problem, Of course the person installing them was upset, he lost out on his mark up money, ride sane and these tires will last as long or longer then a set of high end Metzeler or Pirelli's, I've used the Kenda's on some of my beater bikes, for the race track I have a Maxxis sponcership
