Q:The engine is running very smooth but there is steam coming out of the exhaust. Engine was never overheated that I know of. What can I check besides head/intake gaskets for possible causes? Any know intake or attchment leaks that can cause this. EGR valve, PCV, plastic stuff to check, etc? Hoping I don‘t have to overhaul the upper engine just to find the problem.
Try running a cooling system pressure test before tearing into the engine. Near as I can tell the intake is not nylon - a good thing. Might check w/Ford and see if there's a problem w/the intake gaskets similar to GM's. or if there are any applicable TSBs.
Q:I‘m looking to buy a used car and I have recently found a good one for a decent price, but it needs new tires and a new exhaust system. The car is a 1998 Honda Accord EX-L coupe. How much would new tires and a new exhaust system cost (including labor costs)??
Tires - really depends on which tires you want. You can buy cheap no-names or you can go for quality, name brand tires. The price difference can be substantial (especially if you go for high performance tires). Exhaust - the price difference between going for OE (original equipment) Honda parts and aftermarket is also substantial. Another question is what type of shape is the catalyst in. If you need to replace that as well, the exhaust system price can increase significantly.
Q:New car exhaust pipe to discharge some water, what reason
Hello! This is the case of good engine efficiency High temperature exhaust gas through the three-way catalyst after the formation of carbon dioxide adsorption in the lower temperature of the exhaust pipe to form a water outflow This is a normal phenomenon
Q:Automotive exhaust system rankings
Down there SEJONG, DONGWON, SANGO, this Japan and South Korea to Japan and South Korea to do the main vehicle to do.
Q:What could cause a constant electrical current in my exhaust system. When the key is turned, it becomes hot. No bare wires touching the exhaust.Already screwed up my rear 02 sensor. Need to find this, fast.
O2 sensors have a heater in them, so they have power. Any wiring harness that touches the exhaust manifold and rubs through could do that. Pull fuses one at a time to find which circuit is feeding it.
Q:A friend of mine just got new exhaust for his Daytona. I think it‘s an ‘08. He said I can have the old exhaust if I want. My Suzi is a ‘94. Is it possible to make this swap?
Do you mean the whole system, or just the can. And why would you want to?
Q:Black 1998 Honda Prelude 100% stock.
dont listen to tht guy if u just get a cheap can ppl will laugh at u but is u get a catback it sounds very good without having to much cabin noise. on my civic i have a bbp i am very happy with it too! but also apexi makes awesome ones or dc sports or the fast and the furious ones MoTec. its hard to know the horse power gain but put it this way ur car is gonna release exhaust faster so its gonna increase power i would also get a short ram or cold air intake to match it it will make the car breath better and sound better
Q:I am in the market for a nice/loud exhaust system for my Protege at a reasonable price. I am aware of Mazdaspeed but buying direct from there is very expensive but i would like something at that quality level. I am wondering what online marketplaces have them other than ebay and autozone type stores. Thanks!
bypass to your interior sight vehicle areas keep and get a haynes or chilton vehicle instruction manual to your year motor vehicle. basic to study and you'll be able to do in spite of you like. much less costly training and you will keep 1000's.
Q:Im pretty sure installing an exhaust system you just have to take off bolts take the old exhaust off and put the other one on. Is that true? Also is it the same with headers? Or is there welding required for that.If its just all bolt on I will install it myself. But if there is welding Im not even gonna try that.
If you order the correct parts, you should be able to install a complete exhaust system including headers without welding. There are several factors to consider. First, the type of vehicle involved. If the vehicle is popular and allot of 'aftermarket' exhaust systems are available, this reduces cost and increases the likely hood of 'good fitting components. Next, some vehicles are easier to work on than others and parts are available on a walk-in basis rather than mail-order only. When 'walk-in' purchasing is possible, you often have the benefit of knowledgeable sales staff to aide with questions and often offer good suggestions. Before you begin dismantling the old system, be sure to assemble the replacement system to make sure you have all the necessary pieces, otherwise you may not have transportation to get pieces needed to finish the job! That's about it, except, often success is enhanced by spending a few more dollars and using name brand parts, or complete kits. Good luck and be careful to 'stabilize' your vehicle before crawling beneath it!
Q:What exactly is a cat-back exhaust system?
Hey Bro, Dont let the smart *** remarks bother you. Yes, most tires do have it listed on the tire but thats not the question. It all depends on what kind of riding you do. Dont forget that when your tires heat up, so does the air pressure so make sure not to over fill the tires. If you are going to ride hard down back roads and twisties I recommend 32 in the front and 42 in the rear, because the more air in the tires, the more likely the bike will slide if you are to hot into a corner. bottom line its all about the rider, that number on the sidewall is just a recomendation. Good Luck!
