Q: I‘ve seen Borla, Magnaflow, IMCO, Gibson, and SLP exhaust systems. My question is which one should i choose that will really help an ‘07 Silverado 6.0l
I bought a Silverado new in '04. Had the 4.8 V-8. Drove from the showroom to the muffler shop and told the guy to install catback dual on it with a glass pack muffler. No name brand.just a glass pack. When I got it back it had a deep sound/tone, no rappy/tinny sound, and saved some bucks by not buying name brand. I've had to replace the exhaust a couple of times now and still do the same thing. You may want to consider doing this.
Q: Is a shorter exhaust system better than one which goes all the way to the back ?
Theres so many factors with this question. but if you wanna pass emissions id have to go with no.
Q: i have a 95 civic. i want to get an aftermarket exhaust system. possibly a catback. but i am hearing conflictin answers as if it consumes alot of gas. one of ma frnds said that after revamping his exhaust system he lost about 7 mpg. That to me is alot of miles. Some people say it helps gas milage and some say it doesnt. If anyone can shed a little insight, or tell me how their gas was afta gettin an exhaust i would b truly gratefull.
It will only waste gas if you car constantly giving it excessive gas because you like the sound. Not everyone is impressed by a Honda with a pipe. Usually if they have headers turbo carbon fiber hood roll cage and an v6 with a 5 speed They get more looks than a 4door with a pipe ever will
Q: help!!!
It will just get louder and louder till it drives you crazy - then you will change it- cost will depend on quality you want on your car
Q: Engine exhaust system failure repair about how much money
Hello, what happens to the computer test
Q: I have a ‘99 nissan maxima. The clutch needs replaced but still works. I recently replaced the exhaust system from the manifolds back with a stock oem system. Since then it doesn‘t seem like my car has the power it should. How can I tell if the problem is the clutch or a restricting exhaust system without pulling the exhaust system back off?
Is the clutch slipping? If not, it's the exhaust system. (If it is, replace it before you have 4 or 5 gears that are all neutral. It's tough driving a car with a blown clutch.)
Q: I have a 2001 honda accord 2 door with a 2.3 L engine. I absolutely hate those fart can exhausts that are obnoxiously loud, but i do want a good sounding exhaust system
Look into flowmaster, corsa, borla, etc. All good high end performance exhaust companies who make nice and aggressive sounding exhaust that won' sound so much like a weed whacker on roids. Also take a look on youtube and see what other people with the same vehicle have done with theirs. You might get lucky and find a good sound on there.
Q: I just bought a 2000 mk4 VW Jetta and the only thing wrong with it is the guy said the exhaust needs to be tilted up (it makes a rattly/grinding sound when accelerating) what exactly does he mean by that??
The exhaust system is a tight fit on the cars. It is routed in such a way that the pipes are very close to hitting different parts under the car even when everything is installed properly. If you have the car on a lift or securely on jack stands you can get underneath and have a look. Most likely one of the exhaust hangers or pipes needs to be tweaked to centre the pipe in the exhaust tunnel. Most often the pipe will be hitting the heat shield or the rear trailing axle but can be adjusted to clear them.
Q: I was going for more of a muscle sound, like a mustang or something, would straight pipes work?it is a 4 cylinder.2doorAny tips appriciated
Unfortunately, whatever system you put on there is still going to sound like a four cylinder. Maybe a Flowmaster or turbo muffler will give you a little lower rumbly sound, but it still won't sound like a V8 car. It's just not possible with your engine. Shouldn't be as annoying as one of those stainless steel noisemakers, though.
Q: my system is apparently rotten form the end all the up to the catalytic converters, so would it be cheaper to get stock exhaust or aftermarket, any suggestions and if i buy a new system where does is start because the mechanic said i needed everything from the catalyitic converter back.it s a 1990
A aftermarket stainless steel cat back exhaust is what your car needs. Nissan Mufflers and mid pipes are to expensive even if you could find them. Like the term Cat back means the two exhaust flanges right below the drivers seat rearward.
