Q:how to calculate load capacity of crane?: Very complicated - strength of boom and tower, angle of boom and thus distance of load from base, size and position of counterweight, location of support arms. The three main technical parameters are lifting moment, lifting weight and working speed. Lifting moment refers to the boom as the basic arm length maximum amplitude corresponding to the rated lifting weight of product, product or maximum weight with the corresponding inflection point.

If the locomotive was damaged to much, it might be cut up. If the location was too difficult for recover, they were abandoned or buried. Rumor has it that there are several locomotives left at the bottom of slides awaiting for some one with enough money to recover them for restoration. Q:How do Crane Motors Work?: I'm not 100% familiar with this but this should be pretty close to the answer. Simple/standard crane motors work by applying power first through a rotating steel shaft into a gearbox. The gearbox allows the gearing ratio to be changed (to trade rotation speed for torque or torque for rotation speed). Another steel shaft carries the power out of the gearbox, again through rotation, to a spindle (think big thimble) around which steel cable is wrapped.
