- Q:Buy tiles need to pay attention to what? What place where to sell tiles better?
- There are many varieties of tiles on the market today, there are only a dozen categories. Consumers face such as infiltration of whole body bricks, tiles, anti-skid tiles and the like, but do not understand the meaning of which. It is important to distinguish between good and bad tiles. Upstairs several have already introduced a lot of what I added: Floor tiles can be used to compare the following indicators of data: water absorption, wear resistance, acid resistance and pollution indicators to distinguish the quality of brick quality. Selection of glazed tiles, mainly to see their tires and glazed the treatment. Tire should be size specifications, the surrounding smooth, uniform thickness, the same specifications of the tile thickness and size difference should not exceed 2 mm. The quality of glazed is more critical. First, the enamel should be thick and smooth; secondly, the glaze color difference should be as small as possible. Bathroom bathroom suitable for small size tiles. Internationally renowned brands: "Bee", "Nobel", "Diamond", "Eagle", "Asia" Domestic well-known brands: "crown beads" "Samite" "Golden rudder" Indoor floor tiles are: Tiles, polished tiles, matt bricks, glazed tiles, tiles, anti-skid tiles, special anti-acid tiles (for the laboratory and other corrosive large ground) Outdoor floor tiles are: square brick, lawn brick
- Q:My husband ( yes...the one with the dents in his head from the cooker hood ) is fixing rustic tiles in my kitchen. He has done loads of tiling with plain tiles ( i.e straight edges!!) but we're wondering about spacing these with irregular edges. Very little advice on the web apart from to space them more widely which doesn't really help! Anyone done this and pleased with the result?
- Yes me and my husband did our kitchen with these tiles. We didnt use spacers at all but trusted it to the eye. We left a 5 mm gap where the straight edges were. I really am a perfectionist and I thought I wouldnt like the effect but when the tiles were grouted in they were absolutely fine. I think those with a wavy edge are perhaps more forgiving for DIY people like us. You dont say whether yours are floor or wall. Ours are floor tiles by the way. Good luck!
- Q:your supposed to?Would it damage the tiles?
- Ceramic tile has a glaze on it which keeps the vinegar from harming the tile, however--you might have to reseal your grout if you use to much vinegar over a period of time. Vinegar can work on the grout like an acid if it isn't diluted properly. One teaspoon of vinegar to one quart of water is best.
- Q:is it correct if i divide 198 by 2.25= 88 tiles? help ty
- You are correct, but only if you don't have to cut any tiles and the area you're tiling is basically one big rectangle with nothing in it like counters or appliances. If you have to cut tiles, the general rule of thumb is to multiply by 125%. In your case, that would be 110 tiles -- and bear in mind that general rule doesn't always work.
- Q:Our house was built in 1925. My husband is removing our bathroom floor tiles that haven‘t been touched since then...we had only vinyl tiles on top of the old. He discovered these tiles are extremely difficult to take out they are very hard tiles under the vinyl we have now. Then when he tried to remove the hard tiles he had to remove concrete like stuff and sand like stuff. It‘s been one hell of a job just to remove everything. He went down to the foundation of the house! I just started worrying now about asbestos. I remember how old homes have them. Is it possible there is asbestos in these? There is a lot of dust in the house because of the removal process. Anyone know? I have two small kids and I‘m petrified. I‘ve heard of vinyl tiles having them, but what about the other stuff in our floors?
- If it is confirmed that your bathroom floor tile have a asbestos, try to consider this precautions. If you are removing asbestos floor tiles yourself, try to minimize the risk of asbestos fibers getting into the air. Never sand asbestos floor tiles or the glue under it. And don't use any power tool that could damage the tiles. Before removing the tiles, soak the entire floor with plenty water for at least 30 minutes. If some fibers get free, they will be too heavy to float if they are water-soaked, If there is dust while removing the tiles, never use a vacuum cleaner. They will not trap asbestos fibers and reintroduce them into the air. All cleaning should be done with a soaking wet mop. All materials used for cleaning should be transferred immediately to polythene bags and tightly sealed for disposal. Do label these polythene bags appropriately, it is always better and safer to rely on professionals when it comes to getting your asbestos flooring changed. They know exactly how the flooring was put, and how best to remove it. They will ensure that no / minimum asbestos fibers get into the air while changing the flooring. Also disposing and getting rid of the asbestos tiles as per your state rules will be taken care of by them.
- Q:How to distinguish between good and bad tiles
- Third, as long as the bottom of a more economical. Now I realize that in fact what paint is good. Hi or the master of the end of a light even in the eyes of my paint workers are not covered, take the initiative to brush the second time (the paint is my purchase, wages are fixed) after both the uniformity of color and wall The light fineness is quite different. I believe that the master in the United States or hi Canada in Canada should be publicity on both sides of the bottom. While the domestic publicity is to let the buyer feel that there is not the feeling of expensive only Bale. And the two paint is easy to wash the function is not how. My two friends are the decoration boss, their home is the most common use of the state forever forever. Blowing for two days without taste. 2, buy a wall paint must buy a small piece of light on the 1st color. After a large area of ??color will appear deep. 3, if there is later to fill out the wall, be sure to see whether the original wall and the same plane, I was to brush over the wall paint installed when the baseboard was found, knocked back;
- Q:I am thinking about tiling 2 bathrooms in a rental property and planning to use 12x12 tiles costing $1 each. I want to use the same tiles for bathtub surrounds as well as floor. I am looking for some advice about the size of tiles that may be appropriate. Thanks
- If the tiles fit the area then 12x12 are fine. I used 12 tiles for my bathroom remodel and it turned out fine. You need to figure out how much cutting is involved. Get graph paper and see how it looks. Mine fit fine since it was divisable by 12.
- Q:in my bathroom what do i need thats easy an inexpensive? Can i do it myself.? trying to do it for my mother this weekend while she is away. Have tile thats old and seperating can i just pull it up clean the floor and lay the tile?
- If it's a bathroom floor and you want something not too expensive, i would go for some 12 x 12 ceramic tile. Just make sure it's not too smooth or shiny. It is a bathroom you wouldn't want your mother to slip. So go for some tile with a textured surface. Another important thing to consider is what kind of surface your'e laying the tile onto. If it's concrete there might not be any problems. If it's a wood surface, you better get some backer board such as hardibacker or wonderboard. Trust me. You do not want to lay tile straight to tha wood. I always ens uplifting and you get a big mess. ~Good luck!~
- Q:Dear Sir/Madami have question regarding installing tiles 30*30cm*2.5cm thick for hall and rooms my question is whats the min. and Max. cement mortar must be placed under neath tiles (i.e bond coat in between concrete slab and tile )please advice and thank for help and appreciated
- If you're using ceramic tiles (very regular size and relatively smooth/even back), use a 1/4 square notched trowel, held somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees (vertical). If you're using natural stone tiles (e.g. granite, marble, slate), go for 3/8 square notched trowel and back-butter the tiles. Make sure the concrete slab is clean, sound, free of cracks and level before you start and follow the instructions for your thinset. You'll likely want to use a modified thinset which will help bond to the concrete better. If you have any doubts about the stability of your slab, consider installing an isolation membrane between the tile and slab. Schluter's Ditra system is the best of the breed for this. If you use an isolation membrane, use unmodified thinset (instead of modified).
- Q:We just had tile intalled in our home. What products do you use (or recommend) to clean tile? On a regular basis? Spill/Accident basis? Also, can anyone recommend a good cordless sweeper (for tile of course)?
- i am guessing that you mean ceramic tile first i would recommed using a sealer on it, after you seal it all you need to do is damp mop it. check manufactures instructions on application
