Q: Wiring
when connecting a wire dryer outlet to 10/2 with ground romex, where does the white/black and ground connect to on the outlet?
Q: Should I just buy normal speaker wire for wiring my subs together inside my box?? With positive and negative and then pull the wire apart and use only 1 of the wires? Also is 10 gauge good for this if my subs are 600 RMS a piece and my amp is 1180 birthsheet RMS...2 Kicker L5 12sAlpine PDX-1.1000
well speaker wire inside the box i never would wire them together but 10 gauge sounds ok but just buy an amp wireing kit and it will give you proper wires just to be safe make sure all your wires can handel the power other wise it will burn the wires up yes you should pull the apart cause it wont sound right i usaly do is like the wires i buy have a white stripe on them i use that 1 as a ground wire so i know whic 1 is what
Q: Please help, I'm stuck on this problem:An aluminum wire and a steel wire, each of length 4m, are hung from the ceiling. A 7 kg mass is suspended from the lower end of each wire. The aluminum wire has a diameter of 1.1 mm. What must be the diameter of the steel wire if it is to stretch the same distance as the aluminum wire, so that the two wires maintain equal lengths after masses are attached? Young's modulus for aluminum is .70 x 10^11 Pa and for steel it is 2.0 x 10^11 Pa.
With the usual symbols E= FL/eA, so F = EeA/L Call the aluminium wire '1' and the steel wire '2'. The tensions are the same (weight of 7kg) so: E?e?A?/L? = E?e?A?/L? Since the extensions and lengths are the same e?=e? and L? = L? so these cancel: E?A? = E?A? A?/A? = E?/E? Let the diameter of the aluminum wire be d? mm. Since the cross-sectional areas are proportional to the diametera squared: d??/d?? = E?/E? d? = 1.1 x √(0.70/2.0) = 0.65mm
Q: I have 12/3 wire running from the breaker box on a 20 amp breaker that powers a bathroom (2 lights and 2 receptacles). I want to splice into this and run 14/2 wire into the living room to run 6 recessed lights. Is this OK to do?
No you should either use a 20 amp breaker and 20 amp recepticles or if you use a 15 amp breaker then use 14/2 or 14/3 wire. Too heavy of wire creates a fire risk. If your new home was wired to code, this seems quite odd.
Q: i bought a programmable thermostat, and the wiring i see doesn't make any sense. it's for central air, heating and cooling. there are no tags or labels on the wires, and it was probably installed in the seventies.there are four wires coming out of the wall, and they're screwed into four of six slots:Y = blue wireG = red wireW = green wireR = white wireB = emptyO = emptythe new thermostat has the following slots: G, Rc, Rh, Y/O, W/B, Y1. how should the old labels correspond to the new ones?
two wires go to the cooling and two to the heat . Rc is for red wire cooling , Rh is for red heating , i would think the white goes to the W/B ,i would guess the blue wire goes to Y . but you can call the 800 number for tech help
Q: Kind of a confusing question I guess. I want to cut a wire that contains 3 other wires and splice into them then reconnect them. is all I need relatively the same gauge wire or is it potentially different type like some sort of special speaker wire..? Should be one positive one negative and the other some sort of signal for sound. (Microphone to a speaker). All I need is standard copper wire?
Wires are as different from each other as people with almost as many variations. Wires are designed for specific purposes. For audio, the different color wires are used for phasing of the speakers. You won't get anything out of a speaker by connecting a microphone to it unless there is an amplifier between the two components. Generally, I mean really generally, if you keep the same gauge wires and connect the same wire colors together, you should be okay. But that greatly depends upon what you are really doing with the wires.
Q: electrical wire prices
everything does to some degree cos of the oil used in production packaging and transportation, and because wire is used in massive quantities in industry the companys selling it would lose out if they didnt increase there costs immediatly.
Q: I have a question on Razer Naga Epic.Does the USB charger wire also act as a mouse signal wire or is it still a warless signal even if it's plugged in thru a wire?Bottom line, is the wire in the Razer Naga Epic only for charging?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Razer Naga Epic mouse wire question.? I have a question on Razer Naga Epic. Does the USB charger wire also act as a mouse signal wire or is it still a warless signal even if it's plugged in thru a wire? Bottom line, is the wire in the Razer Naga Epic only for charging?
Q: Two steel wires are stretched with the same tension. The first wire has a diameter of 6.00E-4 m and the second wire has a diameter of 8.90E-4 m. If the speed of waves traveling along the first wire is 53.2 m/s, what is the speed of waves traveling along the second wire?
Wave velocity v = √(T/μ) Same tension in both wires: T1 = T2 μ is the linear mass density v1 = 53.2 m/s v2 = ? = v1/v2 = √(T1/μ1) / √(T2/μ2) = √(T1μ2 / T2μ1) = √(T1/T2 * μ2/μ1) = √(μ2/μ1) Linear mass density is mass/length, mass is density*volume: m/L = ρV/L = ρAL/L = ρA = ρπr^2 Both wires are steel so their density is the same. == v1/v2 = √(μ2/μ1) = √(ρπr2^2 / ρπr1^2) = √(r2^2 / r1^2) = r2/r1 == v2 = v1r1/r2 = (53.2*3.00×10^-4) / 4.45×10^-4 = 35.9 m/s ---- Speed of waves along the second wire is 35.9 m/s
Q: whats a good brand for 0 gauge wire to get? im looking for a good brand that has 100% OFC wire, i would get knukonceptz, but their wires are copper coated aluminum which isnt as good.
