Q:thats how my after market stereo is hooked up..i just got a system and was wondering if i join the remote wire to the accessory would it be ok? even if the accessory is already joined with the illumination
You need to first disconnect the accesory wire on the aftermarket radio from the illumination wire from the car harness if you are using hose connection to turn on the radio. You need to connect the accesory wire from the aftermarket radio to the accesory wire from the car radio harness, if you are using a wire harness then it would be the red wire and if the factory radio harness is cut then u'll need a test light to locate the accesory wire. On the aftermarket radio harness/plug locate the blue/white wire that's where u will need to connect the remote wire to, in order to turn your amp on and off. Don't connect the remote wire to the illumination wire from the car, or the radio harness.
Q:Who makes the best spark plug wires? i think the ones on my car are crap...they are Mag*star O.E. replacements, and they suck. What do you recomend? Its an 89 thunderbird
As with all makes and model vehicles on the road, the best replacement parts is what it came with from the factory, in your case, Motorcraft is the origional equipment replacement ( OEM ) but they are usually available only from the dealership parts dept, which usually is a hard hit to the wallett. A good quality replacement set of plug wires that I use in my repair shop is Napa premium silicone plug wires, ( they also may carry the name Beldon ) They have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own your vehicle. They are fairly expensive, but they are good, I use them in my own vehicles. If I may add to that, I had a problem with one of the wires on my Ford pickup about a year ago and I have had those wires about 6 or 7 years I think, I took them back to Napa, and got a brand new set, no questions asked. My pickup has been running fine since.
Q:i have a 1989 Nissan 240sx and im trying to install an aftermarket Pioneer radio (DEH-P20), my car only has 2 speaker which are in the front right and left side doors, i've gotten many wiring diagrams to help me install it and im pretty sure i have connected the wires correctly. the only problem is that after i got done connecting it, the radio wont power on.. if theres a defective power wire, what can i do to fix it? and also, where EXACTLY do i connect the Ground wire? oh and why does the car wires have multiple same colors for example, theres like 3 light blue wires non striped from the car, etc.?thank you
I think the problem you are having is that your system is an active system and you don't have the power antenna wire connected to the amp turn on wire. Without this connection you will not get any sound. So what you need to do is connect the amp turn on wire to the power antenna wire. The amp turn on wire for your 240sx should be light green and located on the smaller of the two molex connectors of your radio's wiring harness located in the dash. Just connect that light green wire to the blue power antenna wire on your new radio wiring harness and you should be good to go! As for the ground situation, as long as you mounted the new radio to the metal brackets originally attached to the Nissan radio it will automatically be grounded when you screw the brackets into the dash. I hope that helps, if not give me a jingle and I'll see if I can't clear anything up for ya.
Q:In that chart it has 2 sections, one is maximum amps for chassis wiring and the other is maximum amps for power transmission. What is considered chassis wiring and what is considered power transmission?

Q:sence my stock head unit has no remote wire, when I hook the amp up, will it still drain the battery? I have everything connected, but the deck does not have no remote wire, and if it does I have no idea how to locate it. I am worried it will continue to run the amp when the car is off and drain the battery. Am I worried for nothing? If it will continue to drain the battery, how do I prevent this from happening?
just run a wire from you positive battery terminal to a small 5a fuse then to a 5dollar switch from your local autoparts store and hook it to you remote screw terminal on your amp. now evertime you leave your care just turn the switch off, then when your readt to hear some jams turn it on, you really dont want to splice into any existing wires because it could interfere with the computer diagnostics when you get you inspection.
Q:i just got two new aiwa stereo speaker's they come with their own wiring in the back but i dont know which wire is whatthere is one black wireand there is another black with gray dashesim thinking the one with dashes is positive?the speaker works both ways
Chances are the marked wire is positive. For your purposes it doesn't matter a whole lot. The phasing (which DOES matter) will be correct as long as you are consistent with both speakers. If you can remove the front grill or otherwise see the speaker cone directly, you can check the polarity with a AA or other 1-1/2 volt battery. The cone will move forward when the positive wire is *briefly* touched to the positive terminal of the battery while the negative wire is held on the negative terminal. If you see it move back, you've connected the wires in reverse. Don
Q:i got a fi bl 15dual 2 subwoofer. im wiring it down to 1 ohm.now for the problem. lets say im wiring the positive terminals together. am i suppose to wire it all with positive wire or can i also use negative copper wire? i used two positive wires and one negative wire to hook up the three positive terminals. is this bad? do i need to make all of them positive silver wires?
ok well either red or + is positive and black or - is negitive, the problem i have is you said you had 3 positives and one negitive on a dual coil sub,?? if you mean you ran all 3 wires to your amp then its wrong, if you mean you ran 1 wire to your positive,1 wire to your negative, and 1 wire from the other positive and negative together, then you have gone up to 4ohm and not down to 1, you should have 2 positives and 2 negatives, hooked together to make 1 positive and 1 negative as for the wire colors, they sometimes differ so you can tell them apart, providing your the one who screwed them to the amp, i run mine copper positive and silver negative, but each to there own.
Q:Are those coils of wires in an electric fan magnetic?
Magnet Fan Motor
Q:how i do that?please help.
The injector wiring is easy to find. First remove the air cleaner and filter. Underneath you will see two walnut shaped metal items with two wires going to each of them. This is the injectors. If you wish to remove the wires, simply pinch the tabs together and pull up and the wiring comes loose. Be careful not to let the rubber bridge underneath drop down into the engine.
Q:I'm just wondering would i be able to connect a split 8 gauge wire with wire nuts like i'll explain:Use two wire nuts instead of one and divide the copper wire on both ends and wire nut both sides together with 2 nuts. The whole apparatus would look kinda like this:----lt;gt;---- with the wire nuts connecting the two arrow thingsThanks anyone
8 gauge wire is fairly heavy so I'll assume that this is not a low power application such as speaker drivers. I assume you want to do this because you don't have a proper connecting method of adequate size and you do have a couple of smaller size wire nuts. The proposed configuration would not be acceptable by any electric code for utility wiring for this reason. If one of those wire nut connections should fail, say due to corrosion or mechanical damage, the remaining connection would be required to carry the entire current load that both would normally share. This would no longer be adequately protected by a circuit breaker sized for the full 8 gauge wire. A high resistance point is developed with a high fire risk. Also the wire nuts would not be able to shield the conductors beyond the end of the wire insulation sheath. The exposed wire portions would need additional protection from incidental contact by some future service person. Please don't do this. Not a good practice.
