- Q:My private violin tescher once told me that a violinist once was tuning his violin with the peggs and the E string popped off and cut his eye. Then since there was little medical technology he later died. I know that the E string is very skinny and can cut through things very easily but I do not know if it was something she told me to scare me so i would not turn my peggs and risk popping my string off. I would love to know if theis statement is true or false because everytime i turn m y peggs i am frightened. Thanks for youre help.Love Ya!Alicia
- Use a 1/2 sharkbite coupling. It will fit the copper and pb with no compression or soldering. It simply slides onto the pipe and that is it, just make sure you have it all the way on the pipe. You will likely have to ream the inside of the copper to remove that ridge.burr inside so it will slide over the inside stiffener in the sharkbite fitting. I am not sure if some of the hardware stores will have them but a plumbing supply should. You can also buy a small orange plastic release fitting to remove the coupling or remove one piece of pipe from the coupling for future work. It will cost around $5.00 but it is well worth it, way simple and easy. Best of luck.
- Q:What is a reinforced pipe joint?
- It has a certain mechanical strength and good shock absorption. It is suitable for making parts under moderate stress, working parts in weak corrosive environment, such as cover, bearing seat, valve body, hand wheel and so onThe main purpose of strengthening the pipe joint is to connect, install and maintain conveniently.
- Q:I was watching Raw tonight and the distraction job that Jericho provided for the Shield seemed a little obvious. I've seen heel turns and they're usually preceded by some mis-fortunate miscommunication that costs the face in some way. Perhaps this is a way to start the feud between Jericho and Ryback? BQ: They're promoting a new wrestler Fandango. I don't know about you, but I think of the movie site when I see it. Seems as though this new gimmick is going to be a littleweak. Do you agree or disagree?

- My gut reaction is, whatever an adult chooses to do with their head is their own business. MinorsI'm definitely pro-helmets for them as they may not have the thought processes to weigh risked consequences vs. peer pressure or even the maturity to make an EDUCATED decision about it for themselves and they tend to think it can't happen to me anyway. This is going to be just like the seatbelt issue when they first started legislating it. You hardly hear anything about it now because the kids today have grown up using them and now it's the norm. If they require it for minors, in a few years it will be the exception who puts aside the helmet once they're of age. I'm 43 and using a helmet for the first time this year. I always used to say I was making an educated but illogical choice for the freedom of riding without one. Until a friend got hurt this year and will likely not ride much this fall. I'm not willing to give up a season if I don't have to. And I started thinking that being brain-damaged, drooling, unable to speak and move while sitting in my own excrement didn't sound much like freedom to me.

- extremely tough problem. browse on search engines like google. it may help!
- Q:I'm in an apartment, and have been having trouble with my toilet fill valve. I had a leak into the tank which necessitated me turning off the toilet valve several times, and I guess that loosened the nut on that valve a bit, because I got drips coming out of that valve onto the floor. Instead of calling maintenance, I decided to try and fix it myself, and took a wrench to the nut on the toilet valve. I turned it and stopped the leak, but I also turned the toilet valve about a centimeter to the right, meaning that it pivoted about a centimeter clockwise in relation to the wall. I have no outward signs of a leak inside the wall, nor can I hear any leakage, but I'm just concerned that I may have damaged the piping in the wall somehow, and that it might be dripping or leaking without me knowing it. How is the piping usually set up inside the wall for a toilet valve?
- yes, they are usually done with pretty much the same thing as pvc cement. Some, use compression fittings. if there are nuts on the ends, it is probably compression fittings. easiest thing to do is cut the pipe close as possible to the fitting, then just install a new one. hopefully, there is enough slack in the pipes to allow you to do this.

- There are several different types of compression style fittings available to repair pipes in this situation. I suggest cutting off a very short piece of the pipe and bring it to a local plumbing wholesale store or plumbing shop tmrw and they can show you a fitting that will work. Some brands that could work are - sharkbite - john guest fittings - Jaco fittings - philmac couplings the advantage of a compression fitting is that there is no glue or cement required to seal the joint. The seal is made by a nut and ferrul, rubber gasket or plastic washer. Most of these compression fittings are available from 3/8 to 2 or bigger and are easy to install with tools most people already own. Making sure you have a nice square cut and that you remove any burrs created while cutting is imperative. these fitings can be used on PVC, PEX, CPVC, PolyB, copper, and certain galvanized sizes. If youre stuck gluing, make sure you are using a proper primer before you apply the cement to the pipe and leave the pipe de-pressurized as long as possible. You can also try using a non flaming heat gun from a safe distance ( glue and primer are extremely flammable) so as to speed the curing up while not damaging the pipe or causing a fire or explosion. hope this helps :) Roland
- Q:You and the love of your life have a choice to make, which would it be and why?
- The Big Bang was not an explosion that spewed galaxies out into the void. There is no explosion and there is no void. Thus there is no ahead nor any behind, because there is no line of galaxies flying away from any explosion. The universe is and always has been uniformly filled with matter/energy absolutely everywhere in space. All points in space are becoming more distant from all other points.
- Q:broken smoke detector in pieces, want to fix
- I'd second the conditioner idea. Buy a good dry hair conditioner and cover your head from roots to tip and leave it on for just an hour, putting it in a shower cap. Your hair just needs a lot of moisturizer.
