- Q: i am not sure what product to use to clean the sofa, any ideas on what household products would be good to use...
- I use woollite (dilute) and warm water on my car leather. use a non-abrasive cloth to wash the leather. follow with a dry, non-abrasive cloth to dry. test in an inconspicuous location first though to make sure the substances don't change the color too dramatically.

- well there is this stuff called odo ban it removes odors , ad kills germs , it says it is euclalyptus scented but it smells so good , we use it on our sofa ,and beds .. o can get this at wal mart it is cheaper than febreeze and works much better as well

- There are no commercial cover made for reclining sofas. You need to either have them completely re-upholstered, or have custom slip covers made. Both will be more expensive than new.
- Q: How far from a sofa should you place a coffee table?
- Hmm i say i will put it right in fromt of the couch not to in front but when u need to put a cup of tea or coffee u can easily put it. Italso depends on the width and lenght of ure room it needs to look suitable for the area
- Q: Two of the sofa's in my house are in front of a window. My dog will not stop sitting on the top of the sofa's because he likes to look out the window! It's such a habbit, even when the blinds are shut and he cannot see out, he still is up there. Now I have indents on the top of both sofa's. I have tried every thing..yet the second I turn around, he climbs back up and plops him but down again! Moving the sofa away from the window is my last resort, but I really don't want to. Any ideas, I really would appreciate it!
- I know people will disagree with me but if it really makes your dog happy to sit on the sofa and look out the window then why not just let him do it. Eventually you are going to have to replace the sofa's anyway....just my opinion though.
- Q: i dont want to re-upholstery my sofa. its too expensive. it costed me a lot. the stain came from sweat and dust.
- Try woolite with resolve for upholstery on the sofa, spot shot on the carpet. if you don't have a steam cleaner, rent a rug doctor from your local grocery store, or walmart be sure to get the upholstery attachments. Buy a small bottle of carpet cleaner for the machine, a can of spot shot a small can of oxi-clean. Pretreat with the spot shot, add 1 scoop of oxi-clean to the water with the carpet cleaner clean the sofa carpet. Add 1 scoop oxi-clean with every water refill (and the capful of shampoo) it should all look like new. I use this method everytime I clean my light beige carpets it works great.

- yes, recovered our own sofa several years back. those that pay otheres to do it are usually lazy and have no odea what to do w/ tools. the materail is readily available at placeslike JoAnns and such. they sell it by the yard. make sure when you remove the fabric to keep it as close to its original size as possible so you can replicate it. you'll need: a staple remover (a cats paw, or screwdriver) a knife /razor (to remove ol peices of fabric) and a stapler...ot tacks and a tack hammer FIRST! assure the structure of the sofa. broken boards and springs will make for more of a project than is worth (unles this is an heirloom) Second: choose your material carefully. remember it is going to be sat on. and check the foam inserts while youre in there. learn to do hospital corners, and youre good....shold cost about $200 or so if youve already got the tools. and a weekend. WAY cheaper than a new sofa! at least a good one....$200 retail sofas are usually junk andlast about two years....weve had our sofa for 17, w/ a plopper for a teenage son....weve spent about $1200 over 17 years thats less than a bill a year. and were not puttin a bunch o junk in a land fill...
- Q: Should i let my puppy on the sofa?
- It depends. If you do, all the time, then they will think it's ok for them to be there anytime. If you have people over, do you want the dog on the couch too? My dog sits with me on my couch but only comes up if I want her to. She is NEVER allowed up if I am eating something. When guests come over, she stays down but YOU have to set that rule otherwise she won't know when she can or can't be on the couch.
- Q: do you think a window seat AND a little sofa thing is too much seating in a room?
- It is hard to have too much seating, if you have the room for it.
