Q:Does anyone know the history of the Boyce Crane tool company?
Found on - www.lathes.co.uk/boicecrane/ Boice-Crane - USA Boice-Crane (Wilton Division) made various types of power tools, including a selection of wood lathes intended for amateur and educational use, and in the 1940s and early 1950 their range included, amongst others, the two amateur and one professional or educational machines illustrated below. The more robust lathe of the amateur pair had a 50 inch long bed with 10 swing and able to take 34 between centres; the 4-step V pulley in the headstock could be driven from either from the rear, or underneath. The bed, which had a gap able to swing 14, was internally ribbed and machined on its top surface. The No. 1 Morse taper tailstock was fitted with self eject for the centre. The double-ended spindle was 1.25 inches in diameter and ran on ball bearings - whilst the single faceplate contained two different diameter, left and right-hand threads so that it could be screwed onto either end. The lathe weighed 115 lbs, so, despite an insubstantial appearance, must have been a reasonably robust machine. The other bench lathe had a bed built from two steel channel sections - with the most elementary type of headstock and tailstock. The capacity was 10 x 30, the weight 30 lbs and the headstock spindle carried a 4-step, overhung, V-belt pulley. The company are now: Gothenburg Manufacturing Co., P.O. Q:Do cranes, the bird, have any significance in Egyptian or Chinese mythology?
A crane is considered auspicious in China, Japan and Vietnam. It is one of the symbols of longevity and is often represented with other symbols of long life, such as pine, bamboo, and the tortoise. Vietnamese people consider crane and dragon to be symbols of their culture. In feudal Japan the crane was protected by the ruling classes and fed by the peasants. When the feudal system was abolished in the Meiji era of the 19th century, the protection of cranes was lost. With effort they have been brought back from the brink of extinction. Japan has named one of their satellites tsuru (crane, the bird). According to tradition, if one folds 1000 origami cranes one's wish for health will be granted. Since the death of Sadako Sasaki this applies to a wish for peace as well. Also, traditional Chinese 'heavenly cranes' (tian-he) or 'blessed cranes' (xian-he) were messengers of wisdom. Legendary Taoist sages were transported between heavenly worlds on the backs of cranes.

Q:what eats Sandhill Cranes?
Predators of the sandhill crane include man, feral dogs, wolves, and coyotes (Canidae), crows and ravens (Corvidae), hawks and eagles (Accipitridae), jaegers (Stercorarius spp.), raccoon (Procyon lotor), alligator (Alligator mississippiens), bobcat (Felis rufus), black bear (Ursus americanus), river otter (Lutra canadensis), and snakes
Q:How does a climbing or tower crane work?
They add extra stages from the bottom. A tower crane is erected from a boom assembly, first and second tower sections of different cross section, and a base in a sequence of steps in which the boom assembly is mounted on a hollow climbing section dimensioned to be received in each of the larger second tower sections and defining a cavity dimensioned to receive each of the first tower sections. One of the latter is secured on a base in upright position, and the upright section is received in the cavity of the climbing section which is then raised relative to the first section and enveloped by one of the second sections. The enveloping section is secured to the base and the raised climbing section for supporting the climbing section whereupon the first tower section may be released from the base, raised, and secured to the second tower section. The climbing section may then be raised relative to the first tower section to permit the installation of another second section, and the procedure repeated, until all second or larger tower sections are superimposed on each other, the one first section being ultimately attached to the topmost second section. When the climbing section is raised relative to the attached first section, another first section may be superimposed on the one first section and the procedure repeated until the slimmer portion of the tower is assembled from superimposed first sections. Ultimately, the boom assembly is attached to the topmost first tower section, and the climbing section may be removed or stored for further use on the wider, lower tower portion.

Q:Can anyone help me interpret the poem Fear by Hart Crane? or North Labrador?
Analysing Poetry Close reading may seem like a foreign and unfamiliar approach to analyzing a piece of text. However, it can often yield insights that will help you to create a unique paper developed from your own interpretation of the text. To analyze the work effectively, it is useful to concentrate on specific components of literature used to build and reveal the themes in the work. This process will help you explain how a passage relates to central themes in the text allowing you to reach an intelligent and creative thesis for a literary analysis. First, choose a passage (or a series of passages) that intrigues you.
