- Q: is it bad to leave wet rugs on horses?
- yes. 1st reason: it gives them rain scald, a fungi condition created by humidity under the rug( which is caused by damp or sweat. 2nd reason: they will get very cold and get the chills, if you have no replacement rug there better of without. what i sometimes do is bring them in the stable and take their wet rugs of and hang them up to dry, then go back in a couple of hours and put the dry rug back on. But i wouldn't do that if it was too cold, but they enjoy having some time without a rug on. hope i helped a little and i don't think its a stupid question at all.

- A okorder / The higher the denier the tougher the rug. 600 denier will tear easier and be less water proof then a 1200 plus denier rug. I have the last one shown (Defender) is a great rug for really cold frosty winters. Tough denier and no neck rug attached, which I prefer for my horses that are not in much work. In spring I then switch it for a lighter rug, which they usually wear for a month or so before I leave it off completely. But please remember, even if you switch to a lighter rug, it will still need to come off each morning if it is warm and during their heavy moulting in the first month of spring.
- Q: How do you prevent the carpet from static electricity?
- After spraying, the effect is obvious, the use of a small pot, softener and water ratio is basically 20:1Also, the use of anti-static bracelet, what basically does not work, and change the air or carpet environment is the correction!
- Q: Just wondering if anyone knows a product that will loosen carpet glue without ruining the finish on a terrazzo floor... the previous owners of our house covered up the terrazzo with carpeting and glued down the padding... not a lot of glue, but enough for me to say bad words, and I'd really like to take some of the carpeting out, but can't afford to have someone else come in to refinish the terrazzo at this point...Anyway, does anyone know of anything I could use?
- The extension handle on the scraper will help your back from getting too sore. I spent many a day (between the ages 19-23) scraping carpet/vinyl glue off of sub-floors and tile. I don't envy you your task! (lol) PS- Removing the old carpet is going to improve the overall health of your home. Old carpeting is the #1 cause of asthma and other air-born illness's. When we moved into our home the FIRST thing we did was remove and replace the carpeting. (At that time we could not afford to replace with real wood floors.) 4 years ago we found some tongue and groove laminate flooring (from all places) at Sams Club. It was super simple to install and the price was RIGHT! So, now we have wood flooring all in the upstairs area's of our home. Wood or Tile flooring is awesome. It's healthier easier to keep clean than carpet.

- oops! okorder IF the rug is cotton or similar plant fiber. If your rug is poly fibers, toss it... no amount of dying will stay.
- Q: We have rugs in our house that cover a large area because we have wooden floors. We have had them for a few years and there is a lot of dust that is sand colored that doesn't go away easily even with vacuuming. My mom thinks its just backing from the rug and it's normal. Were planning to get rid of them soon but is this dust/sand stuff really harmful to breathe in? It's been there for years but we don't move them around or anything.

- Q: My boyfriend and I have a mini fridge in our bedroom. It was collecting ice really bad around the little freezer compartment and was so bad we could hardly open it so I unplugged it and asked him to carry it outside to drain. I went to work. He didn't do it. It was a hot day so most of the ice melted.. out the bottom of the fridge into the carpet. Thennnn he took it outside. We put lots of towels in the carpet and sprayed with carpet cleaner but now there is a horribblee mildew smell, and its still pretty wet. I can't stand it, its gross.. what do we do? Welll.. what do I do.

- Q: I have just this cheap low shag carpet in my boys room I want to put down some wood planks. I don't understand why I would have to remove the carpet, it's so low it's not plush. Not quite as bad as commercial office carpet but pretty close to it. Can't I simply install the fllor over it, what's going to happen if I do?
- Only can you install laminate over carpet if it is a very short napped, glue direct to the floor commercial carpet. Any other types and the locking system will fail because of to much move ment caused by to much cushion. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar.
