Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?
The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. Which attachments should I look out for?

What I noticed with dyson is, the quot;never loose suctionis more a copy right than technology patent. Why any vacuum company cannot claim no lose off air flow? Which what does the cleaning, not suction. the little shark vacuum (shaped like a football) never looses suction too. So can you show me a vacuum that looses suction?
- You're right. Vacuum cleaners don't lose suction due to general usage and failure to clean filters. The only way it could happen is if the cleaner in question has a malfunction which causes the fans to turn at a reduced velocity, if a seal has developed a leak, broken fan blades etc. So to answer your question... No I can't.
- Q: I wanted to get my mom a vacuum for Christmas, Problem is i don't have a lot of extra money around this time of year. Wanted any suggestions on a NICE, AFFORDABLE, ( somewhere around $100-$125), preferably bag less, with easy to clean filters and filters that are easy to buy in a local store ( Walmart, Kmart) Upright, with no canister. - The Bissel pet models have plenty of power, and a great non electric brush attachment for sofas etc. They are easy to clean and the filters are readily available.
- Q: I've tried Bissell, and nothing works like my 14 yr old Dirt Devil. I cannot get filters for that anymore tho......I want something that doesn't kick sand up on my feet, I NEED SUCTION. Any ideas would be appreciated.
- I own a cleaning service, and what we use are called backpack vacs.You can get them at your local vacuum cleaner store for around $200 on up.You can google backpack vacuum cleaners and see the various models and price range.This type of vacuum has strong suction and its easy to use.This vacuum is for HARD FLOORS ONLY so it doesn't have a brush roller that scratches wood floors like most uprights.My cleaning crews love this vac for vacuuming pet fur. - Q: The vacuum has a really loud noise to it. At one point I seen grease/oil on the floor while it was running. The noise sounds like it needs grease or something. I'm thinking the bearings, but that's just a guess. Please can someone help or advise of a website where I can find the quot;how to fixquot;. Dyson support was useless. They just said to send the vacuum in or bring to a repair center at my cost. My options aren't big, I live in a very small town that doesn't have many or if any repair centers. - I have a German Shepherd also and he malts everywhere! Miele hoovers I find are excellent. You can either get a cat and dog one or an allergy one, the suction on it is really good, so I would definitely recommend it.
