Q:voltage regulater wires get hot when bike runs 86 yamaha v max. why do they do this?

If the wire connectors at the regulator are corroded or not making a good connection, that can cause the wires to get hot. On my Kaw, I ended up having to remove the connectors and solder the ends together to keep them from getting hot enough to melt the plastic surrounding the connectors.

Q:I'm trying to use a stereo wire instead of a mono wire for an output from a circuit I've built. The problem is, the gold wire has been cut too short, and I'd rather not strip it back any further since I don't have a lot of cord to work with. Since there are three wires (red, white, gold - ground) can I use either the red or the white as output, and the remaining color for ground, or do I have to use the gold cable for the ground and let the remaining wire dangle (taped)?Thanks

They're just wires - you can do what you want with them. You run the risk of forgetting that you've ignored the colour coding though!

Belden is a good source, there are lots of other. But I suspect you want a multi-wire cable, not a wire. You need to specify the number of conductors, and the size of each. The 12 volts is not relevant. The insulation voltage is. Also, note that for long runs, you have to increase the wire size. .

Q:I am wiring a cd player in my truck is it necessary to get a wire harness that is made for the year make and model of my truck or can I just cut the factory terminals off and just connect the like colors?

While a wiring harness isn't strictly necessary, It's highly recommended. The wiring color code on an aftermarket head unit will match up properly with a vehicle-specific wiring harness. The wire colors of your vehicle wiring will NOT be the same as the wire colors on your aftermarket unit. You have to match the wires up according to function, not according to color.

Q:I bought a bathroom vent fan today, the one that was in there hasnt worked since we bought the house. Anyways, i have a black wire, and a white wire coming from the light switch on the wall ran up to the ceiling where the fan is, and a black, white, and GREEN comin off the new fan i bought. Do i need to get in the attic and run a ground wire from outlet to fan? Or are the black and white good enough? The old fan didnt have a ground wire, just the other 2. Green wire should be screwed into the inside of the receptacle box or pigtailed to the bare copper wire in the back of the box. If neither a bare wire or a green screw is present, call an electrician to run proper wiring to the box
