- Q: My mans knee clearly looks like it has rug burn on it. No bruising, just red raw skin gone. matches pics on the internet of bug burn. He says he fell on the ice with sweatpants on. I cheated on my ex and got rug burn and said the same thing.. that I fell on the ice. Do you know how I can tell the differance? Can he fall on the ice and scrape all the skin off his knee without bruising thru his pants?
- Look at it the opposite direction: what movements OTHER than the only you first feel of will reason rug burns? Not alot! Sooooo, yeah. Kinda gotta move with the primary intuition in this one.
- Q: my carpet ripples up and i cannot make the rug straight unless i pick up the furniture and pull on it. I'm getting tired of doing this! HELP!
- Rug Stay
- Q: We just got New carpeting through our house yesterday, how often should I have the carpeting cleaned...is it every 6 months or every year? Thanks
- I wouldn't do it more often than once a year. I'd ask the carpet manufacturer their recommendation. You might be able to do that by email on their website.

- Q: I'm going to redo the flooring in my bedroom, so I was checking options. Traditional carpet is not really in my budget, so I was thinking carpet tiles, I really have no idea about them so all the info will help. But what I want to know the most is the seams, are they noticeable or will they blend in? I'm thinking plush carpet tiles if that makes a difference.
- Ideally, you need a sub-floor for carpet tiles. If you have hardwoods, you can ruin them with carpet tiles. Otherwise, I have carpet tiles in my attic, which is my kids bedrooms. I went with that style intentionally because they love anime and we went with an Asian decor. Here is where I also admit that the builders put in a sub-floor for us and gave us the carpet tiles for free...lol I love them. One of my husbands friends is a very handy person and helps with all the DIY, so he helped to lay them. There are no seams and I think they are perfect. Carpet companies usually have some carpet that they will sell for cheap. We had them lay a plaid carpet in our basement because it was good quality, but wasn't selling because its plaid. I love it. Its off white with navy and black lines. Perfect for our exercise room, my sewing room.and under the pool table. Made us get blue felt for the pool table and I think it's beautiful. Check with them.
- Q: Is there a not too expensive way to pretreat really bad carpet stains before I use a before I go over the entire carpet with a steamclean pro home machine thanks
- Depending on what the stain is and how long it's been there, start with a carpet cleaner, such as Woolite and spray it on, let it sit and then vacuum it off. If that doesn't work, rent a steam cleaner for the carpet and use the cleaner that comes with it. For everyday spills you catch right away, use soda water and blot out the stain.
- Q: What is the best way to clean stains on a seagrass rug? These are from a cat throwing up hairballs. We have tried water, Oxyclean, baking soda, carpet foaming cleaner...Any remedies would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
- Sorry to tell yo uthat the stains are most likely permanent. Seagrass, by nature is a porous fiber. Hence the stains have penetrated the fibers in the rug, and have become inherent, just as a dye would. Your best chance would be to completely redye the rug. It may be cheaper however to buy another, and keep Puss N Boots in the other room.
- Q: How can I get my carpet back to its normal color? I have a beige carpet and we mixed to much bleach to get the stains up so i have a couple of bleach spots..
- The bleach spot is permanent unfortunately. You've stripped the dye out. If you're talking wall to wall carpet you might want to call a carpet installer and ask if there is a dye you can use to re-dye it back to as close as possible to its natural color. Mind you, I have never heard of this, just a shot in the dark and have no idea if they would have something like that. But I should think calling a professional carpet dealer/installer would be your only hope. Otherwise, as the other poster said, lay a throw or area rug over it if at all possible.
- Q: I'm wondering which San Francisco carpet cleaning company is the most reliable and really professional?
- Paul Green may be referring you to a dry process carpet cleaner. All the carpet mills, in the U.S., for the most part recommend the ( HWE) hot water extraction process. Soft, hot, treated water flushes the carpet deep down, not just on the surface as the so called green cleaners use. Go to this web site to locate a certified, insured, hot water extraction cleaner, you can't go wrong. At least call one near you and visit about the services they offer.
- Q: SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?
