Q: I have new Firestone tires. They are less than a year old. I have had nail/punctures twice this year.in the same, left front tire. Are the tires too soft and pick up nails that a better tires would not? At what point, with nail/punctures, should I get a new, rather than a plugged (now twice) tire?I did buy the supplemental road hazzard, that includes the plugging.: Tire type don't matter when you run over screws and nails they will go right through any tire, compound does not matter. As long as the patch/patches is/are out in the tread and not in or near the sidewall and it is holding air you are good to go no worries. I have had the same bum luck before too, try getting a nail in a motorcycle tire, been there and you should replace a bike tire if that happens and I did bye bye 250 bucks. Thats one expensive nail. I have also had vehicle tires punctured too some patch-able some not. The ones that have been patched never gave me problems, and it only costs about 10 bucks to get fixed rather than 100 for a new tire, I would rather spend 10 don't you? They are safe and you have no worries.

Q: and how fast is the top of the tyre (tire) travelling?: The bottom of the tire is travelling at the same speed as the ground itself. (This must be so, else the tire would skid against the ground.) But relative to the CYCLIST, the speed of the bottom of the tire is 10 mph toward the rear (again, same as the ground). Since (as we established before) the tire's bottom is travelling 10mph rearward, the tire's top must be travelling 10mph forward. Again, this is relative to the cyclist. The cyclist is travelling 10mph forward relative to the observer; and the tire's top is traveling 10mph forward relative to the cyclist. So the tire's top relative to the observer is going 10mph forward + 10mph forward 20mph forward.

Q: Two of the tires on my car have good thread on them. It's a front wheel drive. Is it best to have the good tires on the front of the car?: just look at the side of the side of the tire and the size will be on it.,,,,,

Q: i am looking for low profile tires ofr my ford ranger. but i dont know alot about tires. i dont want ruberband tires but i want them low. what size should i get.: 225/55/15's or 255/50/15's bf goodrich of course

Q: when i go to a tire store to buy new tires, they add a tire disposal fee with the new tire. is it an EPA law or what?: The tire store has to pay people to take the old tires, that fee is passed on to you.
