Q:So, My check engine light came on about 2-3 weeks ago. The code read p10702 bank 1 (system too rich). I had the o2 sensor replaced and it was fine for a while. But the same code came back on! what could it be now? Just need opinions. And also I‘m waiting on my check so would it be bad to run the car for 2-3 weeks until I can fix. Any help will.HELP. Thanks in advance. Btw my cars a Vw gti 2001 idk if that helps or not.
problem is usually in emissions system, but can be any number of sensors that are sending the wrong signal to ECM. what you need is to have a mechanic with a scanner do a diagnostic check and make an written estimate on cost to repair. Cost to do this will be about $60, but is well worth if done correctly. Otherwise you are just throwing parts at the problem hoping for a fix. Note a scanner is not a code reader it is a computer that talks to your vehicles computer, ECM PCM
Q:Anyone have a list? What if the AC/Heating does not work?
? Steering system ? Wheel alignment ? Suspension ? Brake system ? Wheels / tires ? Fuel system ? Exhaust system ? Bumpers ? Fenders ? Lights ? Electrical system ? Mirrors ? Glazing (windows) ? Wipers ? Hood / catches ? Door handle latches ? Floor / trunk pans ? Speedometer / odometer ? Driver seat ? Safety belts ? Motor mounts ? Gear shift indicator ? Universal and CV (constant velocity) joints ? Emissions equipment Didn't say anything about the ac or heating system.
Q:My husband got an 01 s10 4.3 automatic. The check engine light is on and we took it to auto zone, and they said it‘s the secondary air injection system fault. Does anyone know what this could be? Probable causes could be circuit relay or fuse open, check connection and wiring or air pump defective or hose blocked. They did one of those check engine scans. My husband has already changed the air filter and a pcv vowel, but it keeps coming back on. We have to have it MD inspected within 30 days before the tags expire and my husband is leaving for the military in less than two weeks.
cle's advice is WRONG. The state inspectors will immediately determine that a trouble code is stored in the computer and they will fail your inspection. The secondary air injection system is a series of hoses and an air pump. It blows outside air into the exhaust manifold to help complete combustion of the exhaust before it reaches the catalytic converter. There's a mess of issues with this system from something as minor as a blown fuse to water that's gotten inside the pump and corroded it. This really isn't a do it yourself repair, unless you want to start throwing parts at the problem. I know money is tight, but you really will be money ahead if you find a good shop that has knowledge about this particular problem. Call around and ask them specifically if they've worked on the S-10 secondary air injection system. Also ask them if they are familiar with the 2 GM Technical Service Bulletins on this issue. If they are, tell them your husband is in the service and ask if they offer a service discount.
Q:I have a '07 Corolla CE. I have made no modifications to the original motor, transmission, etc. I have noticed that my heater is not nearly as strong as it was in the first few years of owning the car. Of the 4 available strengths that the heat blow normally the 1st one barely has any effect. Generally the 2nd is okay but not great. The only time it seems to be generally working okay is when I am on the highway and at a cruising speed of 60+mph. I have noticed the same thing in the summer when using my air conditioner though it seems to be even weaker. I usually have to use 3 if not the 4th highest setting of strength to get a comfortable feeling within the car. Though in the A/C's case it does seem that it is speed affected. What are the likely causes and fixes for this situation. If you happen to know what the price range of the fix would be as well it would be appreciated.
Mark32937 answered it perfect! Your car probably has a low, medium, medium high and high setting for the speed of your blower motor. If any of these do not work then it's almost a guaranteed blower motor resistor. Very cheap and autozone offers a lifetime warrantee for them. But be careful installing, they are fragile. Secondly, like the others said, your A/C will always blow cooler when in motion. This is so because your condenser acts as a small radiator for your refrigerant. If theres no air flow to dissipate the heat from your condenser, the A/C won't be as cold. Hope this helps!
Q:ENGINE LIGHT ON AND WON‘T PASS EMISSIONS IT IS NOT IN THE MANUAL OR 20.00 BOOK I BOUGHT AT AUTO ZONE IT ‘S DIAGNOSTIC PRINTED OUT THIS MESSAGE OF A MALFUNCTION OF THIS PART??? HELP
That depends on which part of the system you need. The most common problem in that system it the secondary air injection pump. It is located under the vehicle kind of in a little corner between the frame rail and crossmember. Because they are under the truck, they tend to get dirt, debris, and moisture in them which causes them to go bad. Another common failure that we see where I work is people drive the vehicle through deep water and the pupm gets full of water and shorts out. Anyhow, there are other parts to the system, but that is the most common to fail.
Q:What does the car headlamp 4300K mean?
Simply said is the color of light, from yellow to white
Q:When I started the car after work, I looked at the dash and the security light came on. Before that, in the morning, I had the car on on but not running. The car kept auto-locking itself and wouldn‘t stop until I turned the car on. I looked up the answer, but they were all different. Some say I need a checkup while others say someone might have tried to brake into my car. I didn‘t notice anything different from my car and nothing was missing. Also, I have an ‘05 Grand AM.The car still starts fine but I want to know if there is a problem so I can fix it before it gets worse. Thanks
What Does Security Mean
Q:Does anyone have a problem with Sony HVR-Z7 when shooting in a room that have strip lights?
The cycle rate of the lamps is conflicting with the scan rate of the camera. A common problem. First thing to do is to take control of the white balance, if you are using auto WB this will accentuate the problem, so either set a manual WB under the strip lighting, or use a preset and fix in post, auto uses a tracer system which is confused by strip lighting. If your camera has the option you may want to try recording in clearscan mode (my Sony DSR-570 has it, as do the Canon XM2 and XL2, don't know about the Z7) and get the scan of the chip in synch with the scan of the lights. The only other options involve using a slower shutter which can affect other motion, or shooting in porgressive mode, which again will affect motion. A third way is to deinterlace in the edit, though this is at the expense of horizontal resolution.
Q:My "Service Engine Soon" light has been on and off for a couple weeks. I really don't know squat about cars and have always just taken them to get their oil changed and all that. What could be wrong?
First, you need to retrieve the fault codes stored in your car's computer. These codes will give you a good place to start and can often pinpoint a problem right away. Once you've got the codes you can retrieve the cleaning and test procedures online to check the conditions of the various different components and sensors. Never replace anything based solely on the findings of a code reader or scanner. First the component needs to be cleaned, then it needs to be tested to determine if it needs serviced or replaced.
Q:i am thinking about buying a gps system for my parents. what is some general information i need to know about. After i buy it, is there a monthly fee?Do they need to be wired into the car?
no monthly fee, and they dont need to be wired in just cigarette lighter plug in. there are optional monthly things u can pay for like traffic and speed camera updates, some satnavs like the tomtom traffic range come with a year free subscribtion, TomTom have the easiest menus, and all satnavs have map updates via manufactuerers website.
