Q:When the cable is plugged in the light is yellow like usual but when I plug it into the Xbox it goes red and I can't turn on my Xbox. I can use the cable for my other Xbox and the light turns green, but that one already has the red ring. PLZ HELP!! I JUST DOWNLOADED THE HALO REACH BETA! AND I'M BOREDand please dont just say halo sucks.
switch power supply and see if that works if not somethings wrong with your system and halo does suck thats only game that xbox has that is good and thats pretty sorry
Q:when i bought my motherboard it came with two 4-pin to sata power cables but i see that the power supplies have a sata power cable on it how do i connect these i have no idea how to do this
I wonder what type of SATA hard drive Thomas has.
Q:In the middle of the page there is a section called Connectors, i suppose those are the cables attatched to the PSU, but in total there are 17 cables so maybe i am wrong???It says that there are 6 SATA Cables that look like SATA Power Cables and are i guess haha.I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes, the PSU does have 6 SATA Power Cables attatched to it, but i mean when spending $750 on a gaming computer i wanna be sure lol.
SATA Power Connector: 6 - YES it does have. If your spending $750 on a computer i'd suggest you get a branded power supply, they last longer and will supply your video card with enough juice to get the job done. what kind of video card are you getting? depending on what card your getting 500 watts may or may not be enough, as the new nvidia cards are very juicy :)
Q:I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.
You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.
Q:I have 8x220ah deep cycle car battery's at 12v and i wanted to run an 5kw 12v power inverter but i would need cable which is 400amp 12x4004800 so could i use two cable connected to the battery's and split the power into 2 cable or would this not work if so whythe inverter would be using 400amps from the battery and it would be supplying 20amps at 240voltsis my working out correct
In this case, you should have put the batteries in series to get 48 or 96 volts, that makes the cabling easier. Too late now. Yes, at 5kW, that is 5000/12 420 amps I don't know what size wire you are using, and what the distance is, so I can't help further without that information. For example, if you are running 10 feet of cable (20 total) and you want to lose only 5% of the voltage, which is 0.6 volts, then the resistance of the wire needs to be less than 0.6/420 1.4 mΩ. That is, over 20 feet, 71 mΩ per 1000 feet, which is 000 AWG wire. Mush more than 10 feet, and you need to use MCM wire. .
Q:When I plug and unplug a power cable to the net in my home for let's say, 50.000 times a day, why doesn't my electricity-meter not count that power for the monthly electricity fee? When I unplug the cable the cable should still have some electricity flowing through it at the moment of unplugging. That electricity disappears very shortly after . But after unplugging it, it doesn't have any electricity anymore. So some electricity is lost right? How does this work?
Basically, the appliance works on the current flowing into it. When you unplug the cable (or hit the OFF switch, same thing) the current stops flowing, then the appliance then stops working. Very simple. .
Q:I need a replacement tip/end for my laptop power cable- specifically, the small cylindrical metal-and-black-plastic bit that plugs into my laptop. The cable and black box part of the cable are working fine, but the tip has bent and I need a new one. I'm having trouble finding any on OKorder or elsewhere because I don't know the technical term for the component to search for. Can anyone help?
this is the ac power adaptor , go on the web site for your particular make of laptop check the spec for it.it should be in the part that lists accessories.
Q:It never occurred to me that the power cable -- the one connected from the outlet to the laptop's AC brick -- is rated at quot;125V - 7Aquot;. Does that mean it won't be able to handle the 240V in some countries? The brick itself is rated 100V - 240V, so it can be used internationally. In fact, I spent a year in France, where I used my Dell Inspiron just fine (with a prong adapter so it'll fit into the socket). The reason why I'm paying attention to the power cable is because the cable for my Nikon D80 battery charger has a quot;USsticker on it. The charger itself can handle 240V, but does this mean the cable cannot?
You will need to purchase an Adapter. Also you will need to check the power supply on your system and make sure it can handle the voltage difference. Most can, but all brands and models differ, and that could be a real issue. Be sure to check you users guide for this info (if no user guide, then go to manufacturers web site).
Q:So I have this monitor that only has ONE port on it, which is a USB cable slot. Typically you would connect it to a laptop, and the USB cord also supplies it power at the same time display connection.
I'd really like to see what monitor you're talking about, and make sure that it has nothing except a USB port. Then I'll figure out the RCA power question.
Q:I need to select a power cord for a computer and other appliances (like a printer). Power cords usually have their amps and voltage (capacities?) imprinted on the outside. What is the rule of thumb for selecting a power cord and why?For example, if my printer has the following requirements:Power Source AC 120V 50/60 HzPower Consumption - 5W-350WWhat amp/voltage type of power cord will do the job?I am of course concerned about overloading the cord with too much electric requirements.(People who actually know this matter SPECIFICALLY only need to reply; please excuse if the electric language is not used right.)
The power cables themselves don't have much bearing on Power Source AC 120V 50/60 Hz (Your typical household outlet) You couldn't acciddentally plug it into a 220 line anyway. Power Consumption - 5W-350w -- How many watts of power it draws from the socket. Typically the thicker guaged wire is better to use, as it has less impedance or so I've been told.
