As long as the cable has enough power for your laptop, same watts, volts etc. It's usually on some part of the power cable, and on the bottom of your laptop or on the battery.

Q:A friend gave me this monitor, but didn't know where the power cord was. I made the mistake of thinking to myself quot;Oh well, it's just the standard plug, I'll just use one at home. But it is this weird 4-5 Pronged slot I haven't seen before. The manufacturer is HP, but I couldn't find any accessories on their site. Radio Shack or any computer store can sell you a generic replacement power cable for the drive. You can also get a replacement USB cable for it while you're at it in case that cable is wearing out. - Stuart

Some graphics cards require you to connect a power cable to the board. As it requires more power than it can get through the pci connection.

you dont have to have a fuse on your power cord but if you dont yo could end up with frying your amp if you touch the ground and power wire together so if you can put one on i dont right now

Q:I live in the Arizona desert, on a flood plain. Most of the time things are pretty dry. But during monsoon season the area I live in experiences flooding. I am planning a shallow, square, sunken pond. The main pond will be 4.10' L x 4.11' W x 3' deep. I plan to build an 8wide wall around the pond to keep out flood water. The wall will be made of standard red bricks. I plan to make the wall 2-3 bricks high. This would make the wall itself around 5-7 inches tall. The foundation for the wall will be concrete. Do I need a waterproof concrete sealant for the foundation? I plan on installing a power cable for my submersible filter between the EPDM liner I plan to use, and the mortar for my brick wall. Should I use sand between the mortar and the cable to protect the cable from the mortar? The cable will be encased in PVC as well.Thank you.

You should use a concrete sealant, it can't hurt. Put the cable under the foundation in PVC and it will be fine.
