Q:Hello,Im trying to lower the suspensions on my acura integra 99 gsr.So, basically, to lower my car, do I just need to buy the lowering springs and get them installed in a garage? Do i need to change the shocks also?And also some people were suggesting that I get adjustable coilovers, which is like an all in 1 suspension system I guess. If i buy just the 4 coilovers and send for installation in a garage, will I be all set??Also, on ebay, when i type coilovers integra, I see some people selling them new for 60$, while others are selling it for $850. just get springs, not adjustable coiloversto lower a honda is very easy and if you have any mechanical ability and some tools you will honestly be able to do this project yourself. if you dont feel comfortable then have someone else do it just to be safe. you will also need a camber kit to make your wheels back to straight up and down. (lowering leans the tops in) but you really should go with a quality spring like an eibach or tien or some other reputable company. springs sag after a while and you definately want something with a good quality control departmentas far as adjustable coilovers go the spring rate is very stiff, not progressive at all and it will ride like a rock. you dont need new struts, but you can get them if you like, if money allows but as far as just getting it lowered, all you need is springs and a camber kit

Q:Hello,I just bought a 2001 nissan pathfinder se r50 model and I am looking to put a 2 inch suspension kit on it. From searching so far I have a few questions. I want to add a sway bar and quick disconnects. Now are quick disconnects the same thing as end links? Just an easier way disconnect and reconnect the sway bar? Also what is a good brand of sway bar? Talk to the dealer: the truth is you can get a screw or nail in your tyre in the first mile. If it is a problem with the seal (assuming tubeless) or valve I expect the dealer will do it no charge. If it is a puncture they need to remove the tyre to fix it but would be only $50-100. If I was the dealer I'd do it for half price.

You will have to go to a shop that handles air bags as a course of business. I have found that Les Schwab ires can do this kind of work, so can Big O and a few of the other tire shops. The draw back is that it is not going to be cheap. The only other recommendation I can give you is to try a customizing shop.

Vague question. What purpose for the truck? O.T.R., Local delivery, Construction site delivery, Land fill etc. Trucks are available with wide variety of engine and transmission combinations, Air Ride or leaf suspension systems, power options, creature comforts and on. and on Honestly my suggestion would be the International Pro Sleeper. Tons of room to walk around inside that truck without being bent over. I love the cat engines although they are a little expensive to repair but a little more reliable. I love the Super Ten trans but a normal 9 speed will get you by just fine. Air ride suspension all the way baby, Air ride cab as well. Definitely get a Jake brake. Stay away from the Chicken Lights they look cool but can get you in trouble if the D.O.T. man is having a bad day.

Could also be a bent wheel, a wheel out of balance, a defective tire, bad alignment, broken or damaged steering or suspension parts, just to name a few more. Take it to a mechanic because none of us can honestly tell you without seeing or driving it.

Q:When you break really hard i noticed that the car lunges forward giving the car extra forward momentum even though the wheels have stopped. So my idea is a computer system that stiffens the front suspension only or even hydraulics to push the front end up to counter-act the weight being put forward on the car when the break really hard.What do you think of my idea it was just a random thought though so it might sound stupid if im wrong.

I don't think that would work at all. Pushing the front end up will not relieve any forward motion.

Mega cab doesnt come in a 1500 series, only the 2500 and up. The fromt suspension is a straight suspension, single axle on the 2500.

Q:I've been taking proper care of this car since i've bought it.I've been keeping track of my mpg since day one, and just recently i noticed a sharp decrease in my mpg.I used to get 300-320 miles to a tank of gas, but now i only get 200-250.I got my oil changed to a high mileage 5000 mile oil, tires rotated and inflated, and all fluids flushed and filters replaced.It also seems to have lost some power.Occasionally, when I coast i get this thumping noise which sounds like i'm hitting small ridges or rope/cable laid across the road. the frequency reduces when the car slows down.What could be causing this? Are the two problems related? I feel the thumping appeared after my oil change. but the mpg reduction and thumping appeared close to each other.Any advice would be appreciated.

your car is 14 years old. you conveniently left out the odometer reading of your car and when you bought it. at 14 years old, and with an average annual milage of 12000, you could have 168000 miles on the car by now. or even more. we dont know. with that sort of milage, theres plenty that could start to reduce your fuel economy. transmission, brakes, bearings, the motor just being less efficient. as for the thumping rather vague description. where is the noise coming from. is it only happening when you accelerate. when you turn. when you brake. at all speeds. at certain speeds. only on certain surfaces. if you suspect the oil, shouldnt you have changed the oil again then? did you examine the oil when you last changed it

Yes, use your car manufacturers recommended air pressure (should be 32 to 35 psi). The max pressure on the side wall of the tire should never be used.
