- Q: Im deciding whether to get a wooden floor in my room or a carpet. I already have a carpet and it is really old and smells bad. Lol. What should I get? And why?

My grandmother (mema) has wooden floors in each room except the bedrooms. They are old and stained, even after being cleaned. It is time for new carpet in those rooms. .
- Q: We've recently moved houses and have found there is sandflies/biting insects everywhere. Into the afternoon my TB mare especially is being eaten alive by the insects and is rubbing herself on the fences and she now is starting to loose her coat because of it. - ugh rainrot as i call it sucks:( My horse got it really bad one time, i agree with the below answer i would not put a rug or blanket over him the scabs need to dry out and get air to them a rug would just keep in all the mositure in. There are types of shampoo and cleaning supplies that are ment for that. While he has the rainscald i would highly recommend keeping him in a stall or barn if it is raining out, water getting to it will only make it worse. If it is a nice sunny day let him out so the sun can get to it and dry it out, once the scabs are dried out you can try brushing him to see if any loose ones will fall off, it will just take some time and attention before they all go away. best of luck!

- Q: Besides vacuuming, how do you maintain white carpeting? Personally I have found that using a storebought steamer makes my carpets look dingier. A person I knew at one time told me about a dry cleaning method using some kind of powder. She told me she rented the equipment and it only cost about thirty dollars.
