If the wire connectors at the regulator are corroded or not making a good connection, that can cause the wires to get hot. On my Kaw, I ended up having to remove the connectors and solder the ends together to keep them from getting hot enough to melt the plastic surrounding the connectors.

find the positive fuse by using a test light on the fuses, when the ignition is on the light your using will light up when the ignitions off it should not light up on the test light, once thats done connect a wire from the back of that fuse behind the fuse box to the terminal run the wire to the stereo wire you need to connect to, twist the wires together use decent electrical tape aroung the join to make sure the bare join does not touch anything else on the car. hope this helps.

Depending on the distance, heavier wire might help. It's possible that there is too much voltage drop in the wire during motor starting. That would lead to heavy startup currents being drawn for longer periods. The pump manufacturer should have wire size / distance recommendations. loxotox has finally conviced me that he is obviously lying about his accomplishments. There is no way in hell that 2 or 4 gauge wire will fit to wire up the coils on these subs. It is physically impossible, unless you shave down the wire. I would not recomend doing that at all, that is speaking from what I know about electronics. I would suggest using 12 or maybe 10 gauge wire. You can use lighter wire but will not get optimum performance from your sub.

Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire, so a long wire will not have the least resistance. Fiberglass is an insulator, not a conductor, so its resistivity will be off the chart a hot wire has more particles moving around and more stuff for free charge to bump in to. so its out. That leaves thick wire as the one that with all other factors equal, will have the lowest resistance.

Q:I just bought a set of performance sparkplug wires for my 2001 Chevy Cavalier. I went to install them and my engine is now misfiring like one of the wires in not connected. I have made sure all of the wires are on tight and in place. The wires did not come numbered so i just put them on according to size. What could be the problem???

It sounds like you may have installed the wires out of order. On your car the firing order is 1-3-4-2; standing at the front of the car the cylinder count is from passenger side to driver side (#1 is passenger; then 2-3-4.) Make sure your #1 wire is coming off the #1 terminal on the coil pack, then #3 wire on the second terminal, #4 on the third, and #2 wire on the last one. If that doesn't do it, than you may have bad wires. Check with your mechanic.

Q:I removed my old door chime/bell a few years ago and replaced it with a wireless one. That one quit working and now I am attempting to install a new wired one again. The only problem is, when I removed my old one way back, I failed to label the existing wires to where they go. I have two wires coming out of my wall mount, one white, one brown and the both have a white and red wire sticking out of them. I am not sure which one/ones will connect to the FRONT and TRANS posts on my new chime. I don't have a rear door bell button so that is not a problem. Which wire goes to the FRONT and TRANS and do I cap off any of the 4 wires? My installation instructions don't cover the mindless mistake of not having the wires labled.

one wire is coming from the door bell and on is going to a transformer, all you have to do is make it into a series circuit, connect the two red wires together from each cable take one white wire and hook to trans on the door bell and the other to the front. if you want to check this out you need a meter set it for AC under 100v check each set of wires for 12-24v red to white at each cable the one that dosent have power is going to the button at the door while button is pushed check this wire for continuity if this all checks about than wire as i described above

In us with 110v ac the black wire is live. The white wire is the grounded conductor. If it is double insulated and has no green wire or grounding prong, it doesn't really matter, but it is better to follow the rule for the benefit of the next person. Note the white wire is not to be grounded any where but at the entrance panel. Do not connect the green and white wires anywhere else. Do not let the white or black wires touch metal or the frame of the tool.
