- Q: People aay that your bearings can last up to a year or two if you takw care of them. Whats this mean? How?
- Bearings can actually last way longer than that. I've had some bearings for upwards of three years or so. I never cleaned them, and they still work great. Soak them in some rubbing alcohol, rinse them off.
- Q: I have 8 bearings like any other skateboard. all 8 are crappy because my bro takes it out in the rain. Damn. And one of the 8 is all smashed up(long story). So im riding to school and when at fast speed it starts to wobble ALOT even on flat smooth ground. Would buying new red bone bearings fix this?thanks
- The bad bearing could be causing a vibration, but probably won't cause the board to wobble. Usually bad bearings make noise and don't roll freely. It sounds like you might be getting speed wobble. This is caused by loose trucks at high speed. You can try tightening up the trucks when you go fast, but be sure to loosen them up for other riding. You might want to check for a blown bushing as this could be causing the wobble problem as well. You can also change your position on the board as well when riding at high speeds. Smaller, narrower boards are more prone to speed wobble than longer wider ones.
- Q: I went to a Kal-tire and the service technician told me I needed new front wheel bearings. I asked him to do the part look up and told me it was a sealed assembly part with the hub and it would cost 714 dollars for both Hubs. Does this seem valid? I looked up on some parts websites and I was able to buy just the wheel bearings and this was a lot cheaper. any opinions?

- Q: Ok so ive been skating for like 2 summers and i got a new enjoi deck for christmas with thunder trucks, spitfire wheels, and red bones bearings. the bearings were extremely har to put into the wheel and idk if its supposed to be like that or if it was because of my wheels. also the wheels dont spin completely straight on the bearings, but they almost do?
- you didn't get the bearings seated in the wheels correctly. Take the wheels off the trucks slide one wheel back on the axle press firmly and evenly to seat the bearing. You might need someone who can give it a bit more muscle flip the wheel over and repeat. do this for all 4 wheels. If there still is a problem, take them to a skate shop. They have a bearing press that can install the bearings.
- Q: i am building a jet engine and have run into a problem with bearings, i would d like to have custom made ceramic bearings but as you are probably aware this can be very costly especially having them made up in small runs, i basically need to know how to measure them. the way i have seen is CxYxZ in that format i need to know which measurement is which and the kind of fittings for different bearings.many thanks in advance

- abec's are nice but orangatang are even better. Both are pricy though. Gravity has some farily priced good wheels around $30 a set. For bearings, Bones are the way to go, their super 6 bearings are the best for long boards

- If you got money for $80 dollar bearings than Bones Red Ceramics are some of the most fast best quality bearings. The fact you gonna use just cruise makes it better,cause the material ceramic is not made to resist impact well. So if you simply gonna cruise than they should last a long time. But if thats to expensive than Bones offer other bearings.. They are all quality and perform well. Some regular Bones Reds are good and fast they go for like $ 20bucks. Any bearings made by Bones are good. And Black panthers are another good quality bearing brand.. To me those 2 brands are some of the fastest ,best quality bearings .
