Q: he walk on tile like he is walking on ice it is kinda funny but still is it anything i need to worry about he is just a baby puppy like 4 to 5 months old: I think it is something to worry about, if he loses his balance he can easily hurt his foot or hit his head on something. Have carpets or mats around that has grippers below it, so its easier and safer for your puppy to walk/run on.

Q: is tiled floor the best flooring for people with pets?: Maybe. It all depends on the nail size and the type of flooring. My father is a professional tile layer. And I know from his words that if your pets mess on the tile, the grout will get stained. Then, you will have to scrub them or re grout them. It really isn't good for the tile either when it gets scratched. It can turn into a crack then split! So, Linoleum May work. But, definitely not tile! Good luck! =]

Q: I have a small bathroom (toilet only) that has carpet that smells and I want to replace it with 12 X 12 inch tiles. Is there a type of tile that will make the installation simple (avoid grout) and is easy to cut and easy to installHigher quality but simple installation is desired.: Sorry, tile has to be grouted. It all installs the same way. It is really pretty simple to install, but you will need a tile saw or tile cutter and the proper tools. You will also want to remove the toilet during installtion. This way the tile will run up under the toilet base.

Q: I‘m installing a kitchen back splash of 1 x 1 glass tile. Right now there is drywall where the tile will be. I‘ve read that it is better to use cement backing board as a substrate. Is this really necessary or can I just use thin-set to mount the tile directly to the drywall and then grout as usual? Thanks for your help!: The drywall is fine. Make sure you press all the air bubbles out of the thinset or they will look really bad when dry.

Q: I have 12x12 tiles in my kitchen on the floor and about 5 of them are cracked/damaged. How hard is it to replace them, can I do it myslef or hire a professional? What materials will be needed?: It's not difficult but it takes some strength and patience. You'll have to break off the damaged tiles and chip the mortar (cement like stuff) until it is flat and even. You can use a chisel for this since it's a small surface. Take out the grout around the tile as well. Then you'll need some mortar, the replacement tile, and grout (color need to match existing grout). Place the prepared mortar on the square using a trowel and lay the tile on it - make sure the tile is even with the existing flooring. If it sinks too low, add mortar, if it pops up too high, take out excess mortar. Then wait 24 hours and then apply the prepared grout over the tile using a rubber float. Scrub clean with wet sponge - might take several times to get the grout film off the tile surface. Wait another 24 hours for the grout to set before walking on it. All done.

Q: I only have a couple of tiles in my shower to grout. I bought some pre-mixed tile grout from Home Depot. It says on the back NOT FOR USE IN SHOWER OR UNDERWATER. I called home depot and they said it would work if I were to seal it. As many know sealer is very expensive and I‘m only doing a couple of tiles that will be exposed to water. Do I have to seal this? I understand there exist grout with sealer already inside.....: Im a floor installer and as i would probable have grount to match your grout ...You do not... so what i recomend you do is.. bring it back to home depot and get matching caulk.. yep you heard me.. their is sanded and non sanded caulk now a days to match you grout...thats what ya do and while your at it re caulk ya tub w/ whats left...lol

Q: the tiles are laid down using thinset cement. Mastic not used.: Trying to save the tile is a lost cause. You'll end up breaking them. The good thing about tile, if done right, it is forever. The bad thing about tile, it is forever, until you decide to replace it.. Double edged sword.

Q: Can a ceramic wall tile be applied directly to a greenboard surface with mortar or is a cement backer board required?Thanks for your help: Cement backer is required for it's moisture resistant qualities. I studied this in detail before deciding to use a tub surround wall instead of tile.
