- Go with a gold or natural beige. Or use blues complimentary color of orange if you really want to liven it up! You could also use a darker red with those colors. It depend upon your furniture and what style you are going for! Since I don't know all of the facts I would probably use the gold/tan/beige colors and then use color in pics, pillows,throws, accents,area rug, etc.Best wishes!

- just rent a rug doctor and steam clean the carpet if you don't want to make a big investment. steam cleaners work really good but you usually have to shell out more money for a good one. i've gone through two already and i'm tired of spending money on them!
- Q: We have our carpet cleaned once a year and after 6 months all the stains are back. A carpet cleaner told me if it was cleaned properly the stains wouldn't return. My carpet is a type of berber, but not the good berber. I have always used steam cleaning. My question is would a chem clean be better. Another carpet place told me probably the stains were down in the pad. Is there a cleaning that would go deep into the pad otherwise I am faced with getting 1200 yards of new carpet. - The best carpet for cleaning is nylon. Most inexpensive berber is made from Olefin, which by it nature is very difficult to clean. Olefin is an oil derivative and once anything greasy goes down it kind of binds to the carpet. As to why the stain reappears, the answers that you have gotten are correct. All carpet cleaning methods only clean the fibers of the carpet not the base. Once it is cleaned it looks clean only to have whatever is down there wick right back to the surface. There is no system that cleans the pad or the backing unfortunately. There are some powders that once placed on the carpet will pull the stain to the surface for better cleaning, but it is a very time consuming expensive process and probably not worth the trouble. The only thing that I can recommend is to make sure when you do have your carpets cleaned that they are using truck mounted steam cleaning. That is the most powerful method in the business and if anything has a chance of sucking up the dirt that is it - Good Luck!

- Check that the smell is not coming from drains in the bathroom and kitchen, shared drainage in apartment blocks are often responsible for nasty smells. If you are sure it is your carpet, see if you can borrow a carpet cleaning machine from a friend or family friend -- they look like an upright vacuum. They are pretty easy to use and they work really well to clean carpet ( and backing) if you use it carefully the carpet will dry quickly and will smell fresh and be clean, In my opinion they are the next best thing to a professional!
- Q: It's pretty funny because we are both artist but can't seem to agree on a rug. My living room is bubble gum pink, yes and extremely wild color. My sofa is a sage or dull fern green. My coffee table is dark walnut. What color rug would you place in this room? My FI was looking at a sage color rug with modern flowers on it my only problem is that it doesn't have any pink in it. We are aguring if the rug need pink in it to match. I found a dark sage rug with light pink accents but I am afraid it's tooo dark. A horse or donkey can regulate its temperature very well, by putting a rug on you are actually stopping their bodies from working properly. The only time I would put rugs on is if it constantly rains/snows and they live outside with no shelter, otherwise they will keep themselves warm and happy as long as they have enough to eat.
