Q:I am trying to replace the window switch for the driver side and forgot the order of the wires. Can anyone hlep me.
Check out the link below. This is actually for the replacement of the window motor for the 4th gen. f-bodies. But, it does show picz of the switch and the wires leadin to the switch. Good luck!
Q:the plug only has room for black,red,ground wire.. what do i do with the white wire
You can't. You need a 4-wire receptacle to use with 4-wire cable. That is the only to wire this circuit to code. You will need to replace the cord on your appliance with a 4-wire as well.
Q:I recently bought a set of DT Moto emergency lights for my pickup and after installing them i found when i went to wire them to my battery the wire was too short. I didn't install the grille lights just the visor. Could i cut wires from the grille set and wire them to extend the visor light wire?
I'm looking online to find out what DT Moto lights are. Ok, I see what they are. I didn't know the brand name. LED lights in general are not high current, so they probably use lamp cord. I want to explain something to you about polarity. Electronic circuits are sensitive to the polarity of the DC electricity. The positive (+) and the negative (-) connections must be observed. So many people have absolutely no clue about this. There are just two wires. But if you extend them, you have a 50-50 chance of wiring correctly or incorrectly. There is only one allowable way. If wrong, it WON'T work, and probably will blow up the circuitry. So connection to battery or cigarette lighter plug is extremely important not to reverse the polarity. If just the LED lights got reversed, they wouldn't light, but they wouldn't be injured. Just reverse the wiring. But to the 12 volt source, polarity can't be wrong. Not for an instant. If you look closely at the insulation, you will see that one wire has smooth insulation, and one wire either has milti-ribbed insulation, or a single rib down the side. If you extend wiring, make sure to connect smooth to smooth and ribbed to ribbed. Wires should be soldered with electronic solder and the joints covered with heat shrink tubing. No crimped barrel connectors, or twisted bare wires with tape, or house wiring wire nuts. These methods all beg for failure. I don't know about robbing wire from one place and connecting to another. Is the one wire actually too long? You'll never need it? I guess you could take it. But me personally, I'd go get some wire from a lamp store. Match the wire conductor gauge (size), not the insulation size. Most lamp cord is 18 gauge. Some is 16 gauge. You can get 14 gauge or even 12 gauge. Thicker is a smaller number. Places that install car audio systems often have/sell thicker lamp cord. Have I told you enough?
Q:I need the wiring codes for a factory radio to install a new one.

Q:Okay so I just finished replacing a stolen car radio, but I think I messed up the wiring... When I turn off the car the radio doesn't seem to save the presets I had... it resets the whole stereo... I think it has something to do with the wiring I did... When I installed the radio there were two 12+ volt wires... One said 12+ volt constant and was yellow, and the other said 12+ volt switch and was pink... Problem was when I wired only the yellow one the car stereo wouldn't work, so I tried the pink one and that didn't work.. SO thinking I was clever I wired both to the 12+ volt and VOILA the radio turned on... Problem is I don't think that's how I was supposed to wire it... I have a '97 Honda accord Ex and I don't know if that's what I was supposed to do... :#92;
yes you wired it wrong. If you were hooking these wires up directly to the car wires, then you could have shorted something out or caused further damage to the vehicle electrical system. If you were using a wiring harness, which i highly recommend, then you need to make sure the radio has ground switched and constant power. If it doesn't have one of these three, it will NOT turn on. Now i'd have to look at exactly how you hooked up the wires to see what went wrong. like i said if you didnt use a wiring harness there is a good chance you could have blown a fuse or screwed something else up. When not using a wiring harness the wires do not match color to color.
Q:ok i bought a cd player off of OKorder a couple weeks ago and i decided to save the money and do it myself, but me and my friends didnt get a connector for it so we decided to go old school and wire every wire, and now the problem is we dont know what wire goes with what. so i need a accurate wiring diagram of a 2002 v6 hyundai sonata, (car wires first) i hook the black with black for ground, orange with yellow for battery( which there is two oranges so i tried both and together) and yellow with red for accessory just to see if the cd player will turn on and it doesnt, so i need some help pretty bad, and i have checked the fuses ( audio one) any answer will be greatly appreciated,

Q:I know there must be a difference, and reason why some wires have a solid strand behind the rubber, or some have several strands. can someone explain to me how it works and the differences in wire. m trying to get my head into electricity. resources would be good too.
you ask a fairly broad question first, the larger the wire, the more current it can handle as far as stranded wire, it flexes more during use and vibration and heating, etc. the solid wire is the smallest size and most accurate diameter if that is important such as high frequency
Q:i have a 2002 pontiac sunfire where is my ground wire located? what does it look like?
Ground wire for what?
Q:Why do some vehicles have more than one starter wire at the ignition switch?
The extra wire activates the fuel pump while cranking. The run position only lets the fuel pump run if it sees signals from the cam and/or crankshaft sensors.
Q:When wiring my subs from a positive to negative coil, do I use positive or negative speaker wire?
Speaker wire is speaker wire. There's no difference between positive and negative wire except the markings on the jacket. If you're talking about the bridge wire when wiring a dual voice coil subwoofer in series, just use any piece of wire that's the same gauge as the wires between the other subwoofer terminals and the box terminals.
