Q:Can ion exchange resins remove nitrates?: With the above four data, you can rest assured of using D890 to remove nitrates and nitrites. Of course, if the concentration is too high, in addition to the national drinking water standard (10mg/L), it may require multi-stage treatment or combination with membrane method. Is there any like that?: This is the reverse of usual! Normally exchange resins are used eg to remove Ca and Mg ions (water hardness) then regenerated with salt NaCL providing sodium ions. So you could run a strong solution of calcium chloride through the resin.
