- No. Cardboard is cardboard is cardboard. It is one of the lowest quality paper products, and has a garbage archival quality, because the acidity of the wood pulp makes it decompose quickly. That is why it is a horrible choice for any art that you want to last. Acrylic resin is essentially your only semi-affordable choice, basically because it will help to stabilize the naturally self-destructive nature of the cardboard. There is no liquid metal that hardens magically. There IS metallic paint, but you would have to put dozens of layers on to achieve any sort of cohesive strengthback to resin. You don't like the idea of resin, and you don't have enough of a budget to even do your sculptures out of paper mache powder, which would be 10 times better than cardboard. There is no magical coating you can afford that will do what you want, and of course real metal would either be melted, burning your cardboard, or be quite thin. Which is your only other option - Aluminum foil, possibly glue laminating pieces or sheets together for added strength. I would suggest a spray adhesive (done outdoors, away from buildings, using a large cardboard box as a spray booth.

- I have a several wand from the Noble Collection. They are made from resin and are not considered toys. More of a display item. They will break if dropped or slung around. If he is young then I suggest getting a plastic wand without resin or get him a wand made of wood. Alivan's makes wonderful wands.

- How the heck did you get smoke resin in a duck call? lol Well, I'm not sure you can remove the resin, but I do know that you can remove resin from a pipe with rubbing alcohol, so that would be your best bet. Soak the duck call in a bowl of rubbing alcohol for at least 7 hours. Then clean with pipe cleaners. (You can buy pipe cleaners at any tobacco shop.) If the duck call is wood, test a spot first to make sure the rubbing alcohol doesn't hurt the wood. If this treatment fails, I think your only solution is to buy a new duck call. Good luck. -

- that all depends on how much you spread on the spot to be repaired. if you use a lot, it will take more resin than cloth, if you use less then you will use more cloth. it also depends on the size of the roll of cloth. measure the hole and then cut a piece of cloth that will cover the hole and leave a 2-3 inches over lay around the outside edge of the hole. let that layer dry and sand , then if you need to, add a new layer and repeat the sanding and cleaning of the area.
