Q: how do I replace this, the wire is built into the speaker and runs into the unit.: Easy to replace. Just get a new dog. Small breed if it's a tweeter. Beagle sized for mid-range. And of course Lab or larger for that all important Woof-Woofer.

Q: I have a new light fixture I am trying to install. The electrical box has two sets of black and white wires coming in. Both of the black wires are connected together while the white wires from either set were used to connect the old fixture. How should I wire in the new fixture. The switch for this light has only one set of black and white wires connected to the light switch.: Identify the wiring so you have the power feed and the switch leg and then put some black tape on the white wire going to the switch. This should be connected to the black power feed and then the white from the power feed is connected to the white of the fixture and the black from the switch leg is connected to the black of the fixture.

Q: How can I repair an enamel coated headphone wire? In other words, how can an enamel coated wire be reconnected; i.e. how is the enamel coating stripped off, and what can I use to recoat it so that it won't short?: Strip off the coating to expose bare metal where you would to slice (reconnect) new wires. Twist them or soldier them together. The wires will not short unless they come in contact with electricity-conducting materials, including human flesh. Hardware stores sells paint just for wires, but you don't have to go such extremes. Just put some tape it or cover it with any other non-conductive materials.

Q: when we connect the amp wire to the car battery we first remove the negative side then connect the amp wire to the negative side and reconnect the negative battery wire thing. is this correct?: there should be 3 main connections other than the speaker outputs. one goes to the battery + (through a proper fuse), one going to a good ground, and the remote turn-on from your head unit (this is what turns the amp on and off with the head unit.) if hooked up properly, it will not drain your battery.

Q: Hi,I'm trying to install a ceiling light with a 3 wire configuration (white, black, ground) into a wire configuration of 4 wires (white, red, black, ground). This is configured for two on/off switches.So far, I have white to white, black to black, and ground to ground with the red capped off. This works with one switch perfectly, however when I hit the other switch, the circuit breaker blows.Please help, and thank you!: The three wire plus ground coming from the light to the switch, needs a FEED to the two switches! So, one of the three wires has to be connected to the feed. That would be the black wire. I believe that the white wire is one of the switch legs coming from one of the switches. That is why when you turn on the second switch, the breaker pops. Take that white wire coming up from the switch box off of the group of whites in the ceiling box and cap it.

Q: I just tore my old shed down, that was wired for electrical. though I never used power out there There is size 10 wiring (two wires), running from the house to where my shed was. I then bought a Tough Shed from The Home Depot and put it where my old shed was. While working on wiring my new shed for electricity, I turned power off to the entire house.I am trying to install power to the shed and I spliced the size 10 wires to size 14 (three cable, includes a ground) which I have connect to an electrical outlet in the shed, but once I turn the main power box back on, the circuit that runs power to the shed keeps tripping off. Am I missing something here?Thanks: Open the splices and leave the size 10 wires unattached with wire nuts over them. Try to power up the wires when they are disconnected. If it doesn't trip, you must have reversed your wiring. If it trips, the wires are shorted to ground. Perhaps the wires are rotted out under ground or grounded by a sharp metal edge. The shed curcuit breaker should be changed to a 15 amp if you will splice to 14 gauge. Or: There should be a breaker box like there was in the old shed, with 15 amp breakers for for 14 wire. 20 amp for # 12 wire.

Q: i just got two new aiwa stereo speaker's they come with their own wiring in the back but i dont know which wire is whatthere is one black wireand there is another black with gray dashesim thinking the one with dashes is positive?the speaker works both ways: You can use your old ones.
