No. Malibu lights are made to be permanently installed, as is the wire made for them . Extension cords are made for temporary use. If you are asking if you can power malibu lights directly from an extension cord connected to high voltage power, no, that would blow them up.

Q:The wire is size 10AWG and will be to install a small fluorescent light in a closet. It is coming off of a typical electric outlet. I know someone who is witing it with commercial wire and I think it may be dangerous. Is it?

If wired properly, it would be much less dangerous than if wired with 16 or 18 gauge wire. The bigger the diameter of the wire, the more less the wire heats up and the less the chance of the wire overheating.

I don't know what the wires on the motion sensor are except red and black are your live wires, and white is your neutral. The two wires off your light are black is power and white is neutral. You should find the instructions for your motion sensor, it should tell you how to hook it up. Try searching for your model at yahoo or google.

Q:I am in the process of installing a new thermostat, but I ran into the problem: new thermostat has 4 ports W, Y, R and G. But the old thermostat has 5 wires: W, Y, G and B. I am not sure where B wire (black color) should go. Do I need to look for another thermostat that has a port for B wire?

The black wire should be for ground. You and try to connect it without the black first to see if everything works ok, if it does tape off the black and tape it to the other wires. If not look at your UPM diagram and see which port is for ground and it should hook up with that wire. But I would double check with the heat pump wiring diagram to see what that black goes to and verify that wire with a multimeter.

Q:I am getting these 2 CVR 12's 4 ohm dvc and i am wiring them for a 2 ohm load (parallel). When you run a wire from voice coil 1 positive to voice coil 2 positive, then to amp. and the same for negative, what is the wire that is connecting the voice coils? is it a power wire, ground wire, speaker wire? please help!

Then file down the sharp metal edges that are left on the braces with the metal file. Make sure you file with a lot of pressure and speed, so that the edges are nice and smooth. I can't stress how important that is! Oh, and don't bother calling a dentist. Remember, they're the ones that put you in this pain to begin with! Done? If the wire were uninsulated, then the coils of wire would short circuit. This would bypass the current and no magnetising would occur. Although a wire with current passing through it has a magnetic field, coiling the wire concentrates the magnetic field. When you put the nail in the coil it couples this field and the random magnetic particles align forming a magnet.
