Usage:
Razor Wire can be fitted to all surfaces such as orehouse, farm, pasturage, mine, prison, national defence heftily.. The wire is manufactured in different sizes and consists of razor sharp blades which are potentially dangerous for an intruder trying to breach the perimeter.
- Q: Please help, I'm stuck on this problem:An aluminum wire and a steel wire, each of length 4m, are hung from the ceiling. A 7 kg mass is suspended from the lower end of each wire. The aluminum wire has a diameter of 1.1 mm. What must be the diameter of the steel wire if it is to stretch the same distance as the aluminum wire, so that the two wires maintain equal lengths after masses are attached? Young's modulus for aluminum is .70 x 10^11 Pa and for steel it is 2.0 x 10^11 Pa.
- The cross-sectional area of the steel wire must be (.70 x 10^11 / 2.0 x 10^11) of the aluminum wire. So the area of the Al wire is pi*(0.55mm)^2 = 9.50331778 × 10^-7 m^2 The area of the Steel wire must be 3.32616122 × 10^-7 m^2 now solve for the radius of the steel wire. A = pi*r^2 - r = 0.32538 mm d = 2*r = 0.65077 mm
- Q: why do we use copper wires as connecting wires
- we also use aluminum, though it is less conductive and tends to expand a lot more with heat. It is much lighter and cheaper. Copper has lower thermal expansion, and the highest conductivity of simple elements. (With exception for helium at very low temperature) Sometimes precious metals like gold, platinum, palladium, tungsten... and also carbon, cobalt, nickel, cadmium... all of these elements can be fused together with copper or aluminum to create a variety of properties. The biggest problem with electrical transmission is loss due to inherent resistance in the conductor. Copper is the best for very long distance transmission.
- Q: Where would I get a 2001 wiring diagram for a Silverado chevy truck? I want to re-install the factory stereo that was taken out when I first got it? I have no idea what wire goes where. Thanks a lot.
- 01 Chevy Silverado
- Q: I have these subwoofers that need a bridged wire because of the amp I have. The subs have double voice coils and I need need a bridged wire from a negative on one voice coil to the positive of the other coil. Is this bridged wire just subwoofers wire? And if it is, do I use just the positive side, just the negative side, or both?
- Its hard to understand what u mean, u don't bridge speakers u bridge an amp. U might mean u need to wire the subs up to be able to wire them to an amp to a certain ohm load. If u want to bridge a 2 channel amp,u take the pos ofur speaker wire to the inside pos of the first channel, and the neg of speaker wire to inside neg of second channel.
- Q: To help clean things up and make wiring a little more simpler on my jeep i got a fuse/relay box off an old junk car. i want to wire my off road lights into this relay box but i'm not sure what size wire is in the box it appears to be either 18 or 16 AWG one place said to strip the wire and measure the wire another says measure in the insulation. i'm not sure what to do. but if it is 18 awg would it hurt to go to a bigger size after the fuse box to my lights or should i rewire the whole box?
- For okorder /... Wiring gauge always specifies the diameter of the WIRING not the insulation, since the insulation thickness can vary. You would have to strip the wire and measure the bare wire with a gauge. You can also look at the printing on the insulation for the gauge. Look for something like AWG 14 etc. You can buy a standalone headlight harness that contains the relay and wiring for aftermarket lights. I would recommend running both positive and negative wires all the way to the battery for maximum current.
- Q: And if anyone could give me percise instructions on wiring subs to 1 or 4 ohm that would be great. I have two dual 4 ohm subs and need to know how to solder wires or crimp wires.
- JUST USE BLACK TAPE ,MAKES IT EASIER TO DEAL WITH LATER
- Q: What are those strange ball-like things that are on some electric/telephone wires? I think they're on electric wires. I've always wondered.
- They're usually on High-Tension wires? They're on those high-up wires to help aircraft pilots see and avoid them, if they happen to fly low enough. I've seen them on HT wires near a place called Echo Lake, in Colorado, oddly enough, and I don't think that there is an airfield nearby, so I think they put those balls on high wires in any open spaces, where low-flying aircraft would be an issue.
- Q: putting new plug on wire. which wire connectswhere?
- The wide prong is neutral and should connect to the white wire. The narrow plug is hot and should connect to the black wire. If the wires are not colored black and white and are instead in a traditional flat insulated power cord with an indentation between the two wires, feel both sides for a rib on one side that isn't there on the other side. the ribbed side is neutral. For a pair without a rib, but where you can see that one wire is copper colored and one is silver, the copper color is hot and the silver is neutral. Same goes for the screws you attach to on plugs or outlets not marked hot and neutral, copper or gold color usually is hot and silver is neutral. If all screws are the same color, this does not apply. Anyone can wire the existing system backwards or inconsistently, so do not rely on the convention for safety issues, just observe it for your own work and correct problems when you find them if you can do so safely. If not, consult an expert.
- Q: the wires that are in most electric appliances
- Active, Neutral,Earth hope this helps..cheers
- Q: I noticed when looking at the wiring sticking out of the end of one of my laptop power cables (the end that enters the battery), that of the green, grey and pink cables there, the green one had snapped. However, my laptop power still works fine, so what does that green wire do exactly?? Is it dangerous to use it even with that wire snapped?
- Power requires two wires, but a third wire called a ground wire is sometimes added. Usually the plug that goes into the wall has two or three prongs. If it has two prongs, no ground wire added. If it has three prongs, the ground wire is added. The ground is usually used when metal frames or cases are used. The purpose is to ground or short out the live (hot) wire should it accidentally come into contact with the metal frame, causing the circuit breaker to trip. If the ground wire was not there, it would allow a person to get shocked should they touch the metal frame.
